I was cleaning and getting ready for the crowd...yes KA we had a ton of people coming up, however they were all white and no mex, afr amer, or korean. I saw on radar it was red and yellow so I knew it was going to be a good one...then the sky coming from alex city moving towards anchor bay was very dark. So it was only a matter of time. I heard a loud roar and thought what is that? It got louder but no sight of anything. Then I noticed on the far side of the slu the trees were going crazy. The trees around us were still. Next I notice the water starting to get waves...by the time it was mid slu it was white capping and heading right toward me. So it reaches me and by this time the water is splashing against the sea wall and coming into the yard. NO rain just wind. I was going into freak out mode because of the recent stuff your reminded about everytime you go on the lake....and all of the sudden in the middle of the slu a water spout shot up and was just spinning. IT got bigger and taller....and then started moving...throwing water everywhere. It went straight up the slu at about 5 or 10 ft. wide and about 25 ft. tall. Water was spraying out like crazy. It went to the back end of the slu and out of sight. Then the trees started going side to side and I heard one snap and a loud boom of it falling (yes a tree does make noise when it falls in the woods). At this point I am in complete freak out mode. Of course it then rained and calmed down and no damage but that was one freaky moment. I need to add that our cabin is one of the real "cabins" on the lake as it is 100 years old and anyone who snores has to sleep outside because were scared it might fall. :-) Very amazing but scary moment.

if facing Anchor Bay from the water we are the first big slu to the left...back towards the back...not a very big slu. Immediately to the left of Anchor Bay is a real small slu that backs up to the store....not that one. What is funny...I had some friends at Anchor Bay eating and they said someone came in and said they saw a water spout on the water. So my friends decided to believe me when I called them to watch out. It was about 7:45pm...I wasn't into the sauce that bad yet. I know what I saw.

Not far away, a water spout started to rise up twice, but fell apart.

Relaying info from one who was there.  Some 20 years ago one did hit our house.   Guaranteed water will find every opening there is and come inside. Afterwards, found a fixed metal pontoon cover on the roof.

I didn't see the spout because I am just west of you and can't see into the Tallassee Slough.  I can confirm the wind blew so hard it ripped off the back hatch of the pontoon boat and lifted our boathouse (which is extremely rickety) about 2 inches up and then let it back down. I was just about to get my kids and put them in the basement. I don't know if I have ever seen it blow like that.

Thanks goodness. I thought it was the beer. Saw one in Blue Creek. Told my wife and some neighbors. Needless to say, they thought I had consumed too much beer. Spout, kinda like a dust devil on water, as about 40 feet wide and lifted water and spray around 15 feet into the air. It lifted on up and lost intensity. Just after that I heard something in the sky that sounded like a tornado.
