His full Name is: Willard Mitt Romney

He was Born: March 12, 1947 and is 65 years old.

His Father: George W. Romney, former Governor of the State of Michigan

He was raised in Bloomfield Hills , Michigan

He is Married to Ann Romney since 1969; they have five children.

education:
B.A. from Brigham Young University,

J.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard University

Religion:
Mormon - The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints

Working Background:

After high school, he spent 30 months in France as a Mormon missionary.

After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar exam, but never worked as an attorney.

in 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital a private equity investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the United States .

in 1994, he ran for Senator of Massachusetts and lost to Ted Kennedy.

He was President and CeO of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

in 2002, he was elected Governor of the State of Massachusetts where he eliminated a 1.5 billion deficit.

Some interesting Facts about Romney:

Bain Capital, starting with one small office supply store in Massachusetts, turned it into Staples; now over 2,000 stores employing 90,000 people.

Bain Capital also worked to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply, and many others.

He was an unpaid volunteer campaign worker for his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.

He was an unpaid intern in his dad's governor's office for eight years.

He was an unpaid bishop and state president of his church for ten years.

He was an unpaid President of the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for three years.

He took no salary and was the unpaid Governor of Massachusetts for four years.

He gave his entire inheritance from his father to charity.

Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest self-made men in our country but has given more back to its citizens in terms of money, service and time than most men.

And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income.... Just for comparison purposes, Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%.

Mitt Romney is Trustworthy:

He will show us his birth certificate

He will show us his high school and college transcripts.

He will show us his social security card.

He will show us his law degree.

He will show us his draft notice.

He will show us his medical records.

He will show us his income tax records.

He will show us he has nothing to hide.

Mitt Romney's background, experience and trustworthiness show him to be a great leader and an excellent citizen for President of the United States.

You may think that Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least i know what religion he is, and that he won't desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or practice fiscal irresponsibility. i know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the current regime has gotten us into. We won't like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney's background can do it.

But, on the minus side, He never was a "Community Organizer", never took drugs or smoked pot, never got drunk, did not associate with communists or terrorists, nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US.

If he is so great why wasn't he your first choice? He is your candidate on the premise that anything is better than your President. Not a very strong endorsement.

As I said from day one any one of the GOP candidates, including Ron Paul, would be infinitely better than our current incompetent in chief. Its actually quite glorious to have a range of options open to the primary voter any of which would save America from a failed President with a record so bad that he can only attack his opponent and has not one accomplishment on which he can run for reelection. It is you and the rest of the left wing nuts that have no choice GF.......and to think you could have had Hillary back in 2008 instead of this nincompoop. While I may not agree with her political views I suspect Slick Willie would have at least helped her be more competent than this doofus you voted for, not to mention his mind addled sidekick that is one heartbeat away from the Oval office.

Well, Fishy… when the primaries started shaking out, and we were down to a manageable number, I dove in to do my homework.  I think the field at that time was: SEN Santorum, GOV Romney, REP Gingrich, and Dr (REP) Paul.  Seems like GOV Perry and REP Bachman were out.

I would have preferred a veteran… so much for that.  I found SEN Santorum to be too much of an insider and just a bit too… um… “preppy.”  I like Dr. Paul, but he let his mouth run loose just too much and I found his foreign policy statements to be “dangerous” for America.

REP Gingrich abdicated HIS Contract with America (coup de grâce).  He was a slick insider.  And, I believe he would have lost to Obama… dragging his excessive baggage on into November.

I settled on GOV Romney.  Yes, Fishy… Romney.  Having done my research (see the Cliff Notes above) I felt he was the BEST choice for economic recovery.  I wouldn’t care if he was Jewish or Episcopalian… but, having LDS friends, I know a bit about how their doctrine addresses family values, personal responsibility, and patriotism.

I did not research positions… personal or platform… on abortion or LGBT issues.  Those do NOT affect my vote.

GOV Romney’s PERSONAL views will not be allowed to conflict with his leadership of our Nation.

You see… of all of them… GOV Romney is most like me.  His values are the closest to mine.  I want him to lead our country like he conducts his family life and business profession.  I do not care if he is a bit starchy… it’s his business suit… it fits him well… and Lord knows, this country needs a little starch.

GF… he was my first choice.

The Boston Globe reported that Romney was still running Bain Capital two years after he claims he left the firm, directly contradicting his campaign's denial that he was involved in deals that led to layoffs, bankruptcies, and American jobs getting shipped overseas.

It's a pattern of secrecy, and this is just the latest example of him trying to hide the truth from voters. There are a number of issues in play right now -- and voters deserve answers:

1) Mitt Romney refuses to release multiple years of taxes, ignoring decades of precedent.

2) He won't disclose his "bundlers," the people raising millions for his campaign.

3) He is the sole owner of a questionable shell corporation in Bermuda.

4) Until recently, Romney kept cash in a Swiss bank account.

5) According to the Globe, he hasn't been honest about when he was running Bain Capital, even though legal documents refute his claims.

Then Romney must be even a better choice to run this country if he concurrently could run Bain AND turn around a sure-to-fail situation with the Olympics and make it a success.  What pre-presidecy accomplishments can Obama cite that are anywhere close to Romney's?

I am only replying to the topic, "Nothing to Hide".  It appears that may not be so.

I'll let others provide definitive information, but it is my understanding that even if he were "by law" the titular head of Bain at the time he was not involved in its operation and dealings, but was in the process of making another success out of another looming failure (Winter Olympics).  So the characterization that he was "running Bain Capital" is not true.

Can't believe you are picking nits like this when so many major important pieces of background information on the Pretender in Chief were not disclosed in his run for the Presidency, and far as that goes even to this day.  Weak, really weak.

(Inadvertently posted this twice so the "deleted message" below refers to this post.)

Pot calling kettle black worrying about Romney's tax records.  Whoever is elected better be prepared to deal with this (from galt stock report):

in the Middle East today the sides are lining up as the iranians threaten closure of the Strait of Hormuz over the sanctions. The U.S. is moving more military assets into the region. By August there will be five U.S. Aircraft Carrier battle groups in or in close proximity to the Persian Gulf.

Russia has threatened to breach the embargo on iran and sell them S-300 air defense systems if Syria falls. Russian official Russian Pukhov warned "if the Syrian regime is changed by force or if Russia doesn't like the outcome, it most likely will respond by selling S-300s to iran."

Saudi Arabia is buying nuclear-capable missiles from China. Russia is sending 11 warships to their Syrian base. NATO's rapid response Maritime Group 2 is on its way to the Mediterranean. France's Charles DeGaulle-R91 nuclear aircraft carrier is "steaming" to Port Zayid, Abu Dhabi just opposite the Strait of Hormuz.

if it weren't so serious, one could think about having an air show or display military arms for sale like the Paris Air Show, but sales are not what this gathering is all about. The Middle East is a powder keg that might blow up in the next few days or month.

<img src="file:///C:/Users/bab0011/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image002.jpg" alt="Description: http://www.galtstock.com/images/irancockroaches.jpg" width="418" height="324">

The last P5+1 talks with iran over their nuclear enrichment program were in istanbul, Turkey last week. They ended with no agreement. iran proposed more meetings on three month intervals. Critics contend this ploy is just to buy time as iran is close to having a workable nuclear weapon. iran reportedly tested a nuclear device in N. Korea last winter. They have developed the Shahab-3 extended range missile and the Ashura medium range ballistic missile that can fly 1200 miles. Some experts believe the challenge facing the iranians is reducing the weight of a nuclear payload so the missiles can deliver it.

israel fears iran could deliver a dirty "bomb" today. A dirty bomb can be constructed from a standard bomb that scatters radioactive material over the landscape on detonation.

The U.S. media is not covering the Middle East right now, and i don't know why. The more you look, the more it looks like a "hot" war is about to break out. i encourage you to search the internet for news so you won't be surprised when 'something happens.'

How many RELIABLE sources (not the obviously left Boston Globe, MSNBC, or the Huffington Post) do you have that say he still ran Bain during those years?  What I'm hearing is that all the reliable fact checkers, to include the Washington Post, say he didn't.

You are correct.  Since I posted, I have read that, as well.  That item on my first post certainly appears to be incorrect.

If he is so great why was he pro choice before he decided abortion to be an abomination, why was he pro gun control before he was pro NRA, why was he for gay rights before he was against gay rights, why was he for universal health care and a mandate before he was against universal healthcare with a mandate, why was he "independent" and not a Reagan supporter before he declared Reagan our greatest President, why was he a believer in global climate change before he decided to deny it, why did he support cap and trade before he was against it, why did he support more liberal immagration policies before he became the most extreme anti-immagration of all the GOP candidates...etc, etc, etc ad nauseam.  The Major, WW, MM and all the other sheeple on this forum will helpfully explain that as he learned all the facts and grew in knowledge he made wise course changes and corrections in his beliefs.  It is an amazing coincidence that the course changes occured at the same time he realized that nationally as a Republican candidate he would have to appeal to a different "base" than when he was a Republican candidate in America's most liberal state.  He is not a leader, he is just a run of the mill opportunist political hack.

Reguardless of your distortions ... even if they were 100% accurate ... he would in one year fix the destruction created by Oblamer and start moving this country in the right direction again.

Anyone would be a better choice than Oblamer.   But fortunately, we have a great leader, with great business experience and nothing to hide like Oblamer.

BTW - why is Oblamer outsourcing Olympic uniforms to China ... I thought he said American workers are the best and he is behind them 100%?   Guess not.

If he was all those things, wouldn't it make more sense to dive into the Democratic side of life? Or do you think the evil genius mastermind of Bain capital just needed another challenge, and decided to change for the thrills? I assume Obama's 2008 pre-election rhetoric and promises, and his current pre-election rhetoric and promises have changed for more noble reasons?

So does this means that you consider Obama to be a leader and not an opportunistic political hack?

I would rather have a competent, business oriented opportunist for POTUS rather than a failed, incompetent man-child community agitator any day. You just don't seem to get it Archie......its anybody but the Messiah. We could care less about whether Romney changed his views on some issues to be more appealing to GOP primary voters. What we care about is ending the national and international nightmare called Barack Hussein Obama, who more than fulfilled the worthless one's (Jimmy the peanut farmer) second term and then some. I would have never thought in my lifetime someone could make Carter look competent by comparison but TOTUS has done it and then some.
