I fished for 4 hours Saturday afternoon and caught 4 crappie - only 1 was 3/4 lb. I was in Blue Creek and tried everything - shallow brush, deep structure, piers and trolling.

I saw alot of people fishing sunday. But, not a whole lot of catching going on. I didn't get a chance to wet a hook myself. The grandaghter wanted to spend the day wading in the water...lol...A little cool for me.

Crappie, I think the severe swing in temp and water levels have screwed them up this year. My son fishes with an avid fisherman (MontgomeryCop) who uses minnows exclusively and always catches fish. Always. Shallow/bedding, deep, suspended. Crappie, white bass, spots, stripes, etc. Not so far this year for any breed. Keep chunkin'. It beats the hell out of yard work, huh?

Been a tough year for crappie. Even Lake Harding (probably one of the best crappie lakes around) has been bad. This year was supposed to be a good one based on the 3 year cycle that biologists have come up with. The water is still plenty cool enough for them to spawn. I really don't know of anyone catching their normal amount this year.
