If they are shopping for a new home, you might want to let them know we have a very nice gourd community that's just been developed.

Do you know anyone around the lake that has gourds for sale. I would like to build some house, but the few gourds I have I believe are too small.

Not great about a lot of stuff, but purple martins I do well.. Put out my houses in early March, had the first scout a week later, now have 6 at last count, including a girl.. Use commercial condos.. fish alot around the lake and have not seen any on the gourds.. guess they work, but we have had great colonies here for the past 9 years.. could post some pretty good pictures (check out Lake Living Mag to see if Nikki posts them in the next couple of months) but I'm at a loss as to how do it here, being a rookie on the forum. But to answer the question, don't think it's too late, put up my first house in mid May 2000 and had a wonderful colony..

Where do you buy your 'commercial' condos?

My wife got our second one at walmart for about $30. Also need the pole, which collapses. Think it was in the same price range.. Do a little research online regarding placement. Ours are about 40' off the front deck on the seawall.. They love it and enjoy the human interaction..

Correction, make the pole telescoping, not collapsing.
