Ok so I went to the website that John C mentioned, and now my problem is the Garmin that I use on the water isn't the kind that can be updated by plugging in into the computer. So how can i get the coordinates? I'm not going to risk taking my GPS unit from the car out on the water.

I don't know how yours works, but I think one way to do it would be to add a waypoint by keying in the lat/long numbers while you enter it. Or just move the cursor in the approximate location of the landmark, then add a waypoint that way. If you say exactly which type GPS you have, maybe someone out there can help.

Thanks guys we got it worked out! I have just ordered the stuff we are going to place in the boxes. Now I'm going to go get a box of our own and place it!
