I enjoyed reading the predictions below of what might happen to Lay Lake real estate in the future. I had not heard about that bridge and I am not that familiar with Lay's market.

The bridge will be in Fayeteville where the old ferry used to be. It has been a long time coming. I anticipate a large increase in property values. That coupled with the Farm Links have been a HUGE boon to the F'ville market. I haven't ridden down there in some time, but I am told it is changing rapidly.
For those that don't know about Farm Links, let me tell you. It is a premier golf course that the Purcells built in F'ville as a showcase for their products. The Purcells are a Sylacauga family that own Sta-Green, Scotts, and a couple of other fertilizer brands. The course is always IMACULATE and beautiful. If you are a golfer, it is a must play in my opinion.

WHEN FARMLINKS OPENED, MY DAD AND I PLAYED THERE ABOUT 3 TIMES A MONTH FOR A YEAR..IT'S A BEAUTIFUL COURSE, VERY WIDE, NO OOB, AND LOOOONG FROM THE BACK..THE PURSELLS SOLD THE FERITLIZER BIZ TO AGRIUM FOR $100 MILLION AND NOW SOLELY RUN THE GOLF COURSE...FAYETTEVILLE IS GROWING RAPIDLY AND THE BRIDGE WILL BRING ABOUT HIGHER VALUES..SO YOU BETTER BUY NOW..

I didn't know they had sold. Outta the loop since moving from there a while back. Do they still have the Technology side of the business? Now I wish I had been better friends with David back in high school....lol.

I use to drive to F'ville to buy Lemon Icebox and Chocolate Cream pies at the resteraunt in 'downtwon F'ville" to bring to family gatherings on Lake Martin. Dang that gal could cooks some pies and she was as hot as the ovens she used too. Wonder if that influenced my taste buds......?

I have lived in both Sylacauga and Childersburg. Went to both schools too, along with couple of others. Spent time on both Logan Martin and Lay and the Coosa in between. One summer on Lake Mitchell too. But Martin is where home and heart are.

I MOVED OUT PAST LAY LAKE ESTATES ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO...I'VE ENJOYED IT, NOT TOO CROWDED AND ALWAYS HAVE WATER..WE LOST OUR WATER FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS, SO I TRAILERED THE BOAT TO MARTIN ON WEEKENDS..LOVE THE LAKE, BUT WAYYY TOO CROWDED...KIDS ALMOST GOT HIT BY A SEADOO WHEN THEY BAILED OFF THE TUBE AND THE GUY NEVER CHECKED UP AFTER HE REALIZED THEY WERE SO CLOSE...
