Get ready for the liberal on-slaught, because it would seem the Student killer in Michigan had extended magazines.

Also, it will be interesting to know if his father purchased the gun for him - since he showed it on social media saying works to the effect of "look at this Beauty I just got".  In this case, I have a feeling they are going to hold the parents responsible.

All goes back to saying that if the gun laws on the books were enforced....

That little smart-ass immediately involked his 5th Amendment rights and refused to cooperate, and now his parents are refusing to cooperate.

Can you blame them?  Anything and everything they said/say will most certainly be used against them and as  you noted, it looks like they are going to attempt blame shift onto the parents because we could "blame a poor innocent child", who, btw, had a journal describing who and how to kill them.

Father purchased on black friday - unknown it if twas purchased for the kid or the parent.

They are looking at charging the parents.

Most Sig Saur pistols come with a standard 15 round doublestack mags - would not consider it "extended".  Depending on the model or if it was a compact model extended would be 20-21 or as high as 32 rounds.

update - the model the parent bought comes standard with 2 15 round mags.

Had not saw anything about the journal - if it comes out the parents knew anything about it they could be charged as well for providing the gun.

looks like daily beast has a little info that he recorded it on his phone the night before that he was planning on shooting up the school and found the journal that basically said the same thing as well as apparently he and his parrents had some behavior concerns.

Crumbley, a sophomore, was previously flagged by administrators for “behavior in the classroom that they felt was concerning,” Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said Wednesday. He was called in to talk with school officials on Monday and Tuesday. Then, his parents were brought into the school the morning of the shooting for a face-to-face meeting about their son’s behavior, according to Bouchard. He wouldn’t say what the behavior was, and police weren’t informed about any potential issues prior to the tragic event.

I have two 33 round mags for my Glock.  I think the standard is 15 rounds and a common option is 17 rounds.  Hope I never get into such a battle that I would need the 33s but they will be there if it comes to that.  Sure is fun to pop 33 in a row at rhe range.  Even with smokeless powder you end up in a cloud of smoke.

There will probably be boo-bird gun haters out there that say I don't need a 33 round magazine, and I hope to high hell they are right.  But if I am in the situation where I DO need them I don't want to end up sorry...and dead.

When people tell me things like that I ask them questions.  Question 1:  Do you have life insurance?  If yes, then I ask them why since they have never needed it.  Of course their answer is they have it just in case they need it.  Question 2.  Do you have smoke detectors?  Always yes and I follow up asking them why since their house has never burned down.  Both of those are the same rationale for having a high capacity mag or an AR-15.....we have them because we legally can and just in case we need them.....and like life insurance and a smoke detector we hope we never have to need them.  But if we do we will be very glad we did.  Unlike life insurance and smoke detectors we can also have a heck of a lot of fun with our guns.  So in reality they have more value in having them than the others.

his eyes are "dead".  Apparently been playing increasingly violent video games since he was a child.  His social media and journal posts reflect someone with a very sick mind, since they detail killing people.

I am in no way against extended magazines or even standard magazines.  If I have to use a gun, I want as much fire power as I need to neurtralize the threat.  I stand corrected on the "extended magazine" statement.  I thought I read that he had multiple magazines.

With regard to his parents being charged, I think they at least deserve some of the blame.  Father bought the gun, don't know if it was a straw purchase for the kid, or for his own use.  Did they never notice that their kid was obsessed with killing and death?  Do they never look at their social media postings?  Did they never looki in their own kids eyes and see he was devoid of emotion?  Did they ever take him to a medical professional?  I will give credit to the school, because it sounds like as soon as a couple of teachers reported being disturbed, they immediately called in the parents. Not that it did any good at that point, but at least they were on it.

I guess the schools were not equpped with metal detectors?

My understanding is that he had at least 2 on him and there is a possibility of a 3rd which is unverified.

"I personally do not put much weight into video games made me violent" - if so pacman should make people fat and donkey kong should turn people into plumbers who leap over barrels and attack oversized gorillas.

What I had read was that the parents were being looked at into terms of improper storage or something like that.

Just saw the press conference with the Proscecuter.  Apparently there were a lot of evidence that the parents suspected that the kid could be violent.  The mother texted the kid "don't do it".  And the father, upon hearing that there was an active shooter, immediately returned home to check on his gun.

Parents are going to be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

I have to admit I am conflicted about charging parents for the crimes of their kids.  Will that standard apply to all the BLM and Antifa rioters?  What about if you let your kid use the car and they kill someone in an accident?  Being a poor parent should not equate to being criminally liable for the actions of your kids.  I hope there's more active participation than just not securing guns and having a mentally disturbed kid to justify charges, otherwise we are shifting the blame from the perp to others.  He is responsible for his actions and was at an age that he should know the consequences of his crimes.

today, she sees charging parents on a case-by-case basis.  From texts, it appears that the parents didn't take the threat seriously.  They've got the mother on Text telling someone that the kid was "practicing with his new gun" (which would suggest a straw purchase by the father).  they didn't take the time to search the backpack after the meeting with the principal, and insisted he stay at school.  Then, when the mother heard "active shootr" she texted the son, "don't do it" and the father rushed home to check the location of the gun.  So it sounds like they were at least complicent.

Obviously, the vast majority of these cases, the parents were clueless.  They also said no charges will be made against the gun store owner.

Now the parents have disappeared and the US Marshall and the FBI and other law enforcement has an APB out for them.  I don't know where they think they will go that they won't be found, unless they leave the country.  I guess they figured their kid is in custody, so they will try to get away.

Any parent who owns a firearm should at least secure it with a trigger lock. 4 kids are dead and the parents deserve to be behind bars. It appears the father bought the gun for his 15year old son and the kid used it.

As to parents of looters, I feel they should also be responsible if the looters are under 18.

You might make Martini look bad by exercising logic and reason, lol.

Peace.

Heck, the parents gave them a list of what to grab.

Something new to me.  Apparently a lot of the smash and grab comes from BLM, that says that Capitalist White Supremecy is keeping black people down.  What better reason for looting high end stores?

"Heck, the parents gave them a list of what to grab."

Hound, can you post the article? I was telling a friend and she laughed....wondering if the looters had to  select certain sizes  and colors  to fullfill the list.
