If you don't know, Sean Spicer is one of the celebrities on Dancing with the Stars - a show I do not watch, but am aware of. Yesterday, I came across a hate filled article about Sean Spicer being on there at all. And the comments were full of hate too. It would seem that people HATE Sean Spicer, the man, simply because he was Trump's Press Secretary. As near as I can tell, his job was to represent the Administration to the media, meaning he would spell out the plans and policies of President Trump. Did have to agree with them personally, didn't make the decision about what they were, and try to answer the media's (hostile) questions. And it would seem a segment of the population has a deep hatred of the man. The hosts of the show said disparaging things and questioned him being on the show and whether they would even do the show if he was on it. The judges apparently give him horrible marks but he remains on there because people call votes for him in. I can't think of anyone I hate that much, except maybe Hitler and his upper eschelon, and everyone knows why.
Then yesterday, I was in Alexander City. I was making a left turn and I felt like I had time to turn, when the car that was coming laid on his horn. I lifted my hand as if to quesion why he was honking on me. We didn't have a near accident, he didn't have to come to a full stop or jam on his brakes. But as I was getting out of the car, he came back around the parking lot, screaming at me as to why I cut him off and why I shot him the bird. He was angry. I told him that I didn't cut him off, and didn't unerstand what he was honking about, hence I put my hand up as a question. He literally burned rubber away from me. Road rage in Alex City? Why so much anger? I guess I am lucky he didn't shoot me (but I will get more diligent about carrying my handgun).
I just don't get where all the hate and anger over trivial things is coming from. And it makes me wonder what will happen if Trump is re-elected in 2020.

DWTS - All of a sudden they do not like NPV :)
As for the rest keep it loaded and with you - people are angry and stupid and most think of it as you are driving on their road so just be happy they allow you to be on it at all.
What I have found is that usually the person who screams/honks is usually the one at fault (speeding, in the wrong lane, turning across multiple lanes) and you just happened to be an easy target for their problems.

I have had some pschology courses and a lot of human behavior training and graduate classes in behavior in organizations and so on, and have been in the work force over 50 years and have made some observations. Generally when someone does what that person did to you they are angry with themselves or for whatever reason think they have been wronged, and your unfortunate experience is simply a way to transfer that anger and guilt to someone else.
Like Phil, I would recommend you protect yourself because you never know when someone like that will realy lose it and either use his vehicle or something else in an attempt to exact revenge for your "transgression".

I am curious, if you had a gun would you have pulled it out? Best way to diffuse a situation like this is to just say....I don't think I did anything wrong but if I did...I apologize. As I tell my wife, you can't win an argument with some bozo so better to leave in one piece.

Easy answer, especially if in a car. I would have my gun at the ready but out of sight, and would not use it unless it was obvious that my life, those in my car, and maybe even bystanders were to be in mortal danger. It was only recently that I started carrying anytime out and about, and it is only because I felt I had to carry that I started. I find it a royal pain in the (wherever you carry it) and would like to believe I didn't need to. Maybe you are insulated from it but there is a cruel, sadistic world out there that doesn't really care about human life and would "off" you without a second thought. I intend to die in bed, not a pool of my own blood.

I'm one of those people that upon experiencing your anger, I get calmer and calmer. I didn't yell back at the guy, but spoke calmly. I didn't see a reason to apologize, because I didn't do anything wrong. I was right in front of my art class, so if I felt more threatened, I would have walked into the art class and called 911. But I need to start carrying my gun. It could have been because I am a woman and he was a man that he felt emboldened. It might have been race. It might have been that I was driving a Lincoln and he was driving some old car. Maybe he is a confrontational kind of guy and he wanted to intimidate me. It just made me think about how many people are so angry with everything.
I'm with Hodja, I would keep my gun at the ready, but not wave it around. I don't ever want to shoot someone, but if it is necessary, I wouldn't hesitate.

Hodja...where do one carry their gun in the summer? Most of the time I wear shorts and a pull over shirt. I assume you are carrying a concealed gun.

I think you handled your situation well and it appears that you were dealing with a person that, for whatever reason, is the type that just looks for the opportunity to discharge his emotions.

Where it is not noticeable, or if there is a bulge, as in a pocket, the "print" isn't that of a gun but more a blob or rectangle. My experience is that if you take reasonable and prudent measures and are not self conscious about it nobody would realize it is a gun unless they were explicitly trying to find someone carrying a gun. Also, some pretty powerful self defense weapons come in some pretty small packages these days.
And wearing shirts that one doesn't tuck in helps the conceal factor as well.

As long as the idiot is only "discharging" his emotions. If still in the car pull it and set it in your lap, if he gets out and approaches, regardless of a gun/stick/tire iron in his hand be ready to use it if needed.
If he walks up to the window and says " I feel you were in the wrong and just wanted to say so before I left" You can repond with have a nice day. If he is frothing at the mouth and corners you in your car while banging on it like an antifa thug - give them the opportunity to lay down on the ground before you add extra ventilation, but my father always said - one you show your cards you better be willing to use them - of they will take them from you and use it - never flash for effect.

If you see my gun there is about 99.44% chance you will hear my gun as well and if my training is an indication of results you will most likely feel my gun as well, or the bullets it discharges anyway. If I feel threatened enough to expose it I am almost certainly feel threatened enough to use it. Shoot first and save the talking for my attorney.
