This is no joke. It's true. You think women are generally near sighted and see the ATM larger than it really is?

One of the problems women have is that their arms are generally not as long as men's.

Makes it hard to reach the bottom of a large purse, doesn't it.

People do not pay attention to what they are doing. When you multitask, you are giving nothing 100% - reference driving and ... running your yap on the phone, eating a hamburger, yelling at the kids, reading a paper or putting on makeup. It is being inconsiderate, and is a product of the world in which we live. At work we have a parking deck that you swipe your card to enter - been like that for YEARS, and yet we have people pull up, THEN start looking for their badges. The old Boy Scout motto of "be prepared" has been forgotten. Problem is not short arms, it is short attention spans, and being oblivious to your surroundings.

I agree with you, but I have never pulled up to an ATM without having my card in hand, and I've certainly never had to go digging in my purse for it. I was raised to be considerate of others, and those lessons have stuck with me. I'm notoriously impatient. It's not just women. I've been behind men who had to take their ATM card out of their wallet (that they were sitting on), couldn't figure out how to use the machine, then have to study the receipt before putting the card back in their wallet and driving off. I don't think it's gender driven, I think it is just the "me" culture -- self absorbed and totally unware of what is going on around them.

Hound ...

1.  It was a joke.
2.  I agree it does not apply to all women
3.  there are many men stereotype jokes that do not fit all men.
4.  I will share that it does seem women on the road (not just at an ATM) tend to "try" and do a lot more driving that just drive.   This morning traffic was bad in Atlanta - 6 lanes like a parking lot, there was a women in front of me on her cell phone.  she was also doing her make-up in the rearview mirror as we were inching along.  As the traffic did start to move she did not even see it.  I could go on how she was gradually moving in to the adjacent lane and almost hit another car due to her lack of focus.

Sorry you did not find it funny ... but it was a joke.  If it makes you feel better, my wife did not laugh either ...

And I'm sad to say that I have seen women putting on make up and talking on their cell phone while driving. Idiots.
