Why doesn't someone take Bruce's 4PM aerial photo and do an accurate boat count. I doubt that 4,000 boats were in that photo. I'll WAG 1,500. I'm sure that Bruce can email someone the photo so it can be magnified on screen for the count.

On row 4, the fourth full row, I just counted approximately 120 boats. I'm counting from a photo taken during AJ concert that appears to be an official photo with wider field of view.

Also, who was counting the boats that came and went all during the day. I think no one will ever know. I would go with the registered number and I think that is the 4k plus.
Because not all they who registered came out and not every one who came out had registered. I bet it all balances out.

The registered number was 1600 as of Fri morn according to Russell.

Actually as of 7-23 - there were 2916 boats registered and 18,728 people registered. All boats and people were not registered since you didn't have to register to attend.

I was there. We had 2 boats and 13 people. None of us "registered.

Don't think we'll ever know how many people attended, but boats are big enough to count in a photo. All we need is a high res aerial shot about 6PM.

Average of 50 to 60 per row and 20 rows. Easy math. Maybe 1,200 tied up and the remainder can't be more than 300 floating around. 1,500 boats, can't be over 2,000 for sure in photo I saw.

How long were the lines? calculate and average beam of a boat at 7 feet times the length of the lines times 8 lines = about how many baots.

the picture taken at about 4:00PM?? We were in a permanent position from 3:30 on, and at 4:00 the tie-ups were pretty full, with maybe 1 or 2 hundred floating around behind. Beginning about 5:00, literally hundreds of boats started arriving until we were surrounded, and we were about 100 yards off the Northern bank of K Bay. Conservative estimate>> 2300/2500 boats.
