I'd like to know why 'NBC 12 is so liberal in its reporting - Carlson - 12/11/2019 7:49:43 PM' and 'See My Post on Comey Under Lake Martin Topics - Buteye - 12/17/2019 12:52:49 AM' are posted on this forum.  I realize that 'Carlson's' subject is about the local TV station  but he/she knew the type of reaction that message would get.  Why not call out local CBS-ABC-PBS stations also.  Buteye's post is from the "Off-Topic Forum".

I thought this forum was about happenings and questions concerning the Lake Martin area and its stakeholders not political views.  If you want to rant and rave about your polical views "GO TELL A POLITICAN", don't post it here.  Or better yet go out to US280 or Hwy63 wuith a big sign that reads "Impeach and Remove Trump" or "Trump for Ruler".  I noticed that you did not post to 'Lake Martin Fishing' or 'Lake Martin SCUBA'.  Most of the polical posts belong in the 'JOKES' forum, maybe try there.

All this does is show what children we have become "If you don't want to play by my rules then I will take my ball home."

Well I debated whether it was a lake Martin post or off subject.  I decided since I live at Lake Martin the question was appropriate since it is a local station.  

having said that, do you not have better stuff to complain about?  Sounds like your post belongs in the off subject forum.  Have a great evening!

Can't lighten up.  My wife keeps baking all these holiday goodies and I'm putting on the Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year weight that happens this time of year.        Hope you and yor family have a Merry Christmas

So what I have I done to you?  I made no reference to this as you say on the off subject and so yet again I have to respond on this site to address your accusation.  

so I guess my takeaway is that no matter what I say or do will satisfy.  Ok but I will defend myself when falsely accused irrespective of the site.  Want to make this post even longer on the site, go for it!

MrHodja, This time last year my wife wouldn't buy a year's subscription for anything for me and I was getting my house in order.  So I am enjoying life.

I am really a pretty nice guy or so I have been told.  I am just so sick and tired of all the political rhetoric that is going on in our country and it really is tearing us apart.  If you want to let others know what yor beliefs are in 'Off-Topics' that's fine with me.   I don't have to look at what your beliefs are unless I want to have a good laugh.

I fought for our country during some of the most turbent times our contry has had but today I'm not too sure where we are headed.  Maybe all this needs to be in 'Off-Topic' but I am only responding to your post.

I will sit back now and read the 'Lake Martin Topics' forum after the New Year.

I hope that you and your family have happy and safe holidays.  Don't eat too much or you will have to work twice as hard in spring (just around the corner, I hope) to get the weight off.

Carlson, I MUST APOLOGIZE!!!!!!!  I was thinking it was you who had made the post in 'Off-Topics' directing to here.  My Bad.  I am truly SORRY.

I know that an apology is not very much in this situation but it's the best I can offer.  (maybe I could offer up my first born child).  She does come with a fair amount of debt though.

Alatrav, we are in violent agreement on just about everything.  The Lake Martin forum should be about the lake, good or bad.  I too get tired of the piolitical crap but reserve the right to comment on the right v left battleground when the BS flag is appropriate....in the Off Topics forum.

Speaking of Lake Martin topics, I have a good 3/4 acre of pine needles and gum tree leaves that I had hoped to gather and burn on the lakebed this weekend, but the weather gods tell me to wait a week.  I guess I will ring in the new year with tons of obnoxious smoke...fortunately we are at the end of a slough and the prevailing winds take the smoke in a direction that will piss off the deer and not our neighbors!

And damp is why I am not trying to burn this weekend, lol.

I use a lightweight electric leaf blower to provide extra oxygen to the burn pile and build a wood base underneath the pine straw and leaves from the multitude of dead branches that fall off the trees over time...and this year the smaller branches from the 40 foot pine tree at our place in town that succumbed to pine bark beetles.  The wood base and extra oxygen from the blower create a poor man's blast furnace and dispatch the stuff faster and with less smoke.  Am hoping next weekend will be more dry and conducive to getting rid of the stuff.

Sounds like a plan.  Normally the burning doesn't bother me, but I think there was a low ceiling yesterday.  But with temps for Christmas in the 70s and sunny, I imagine things will dry out.
