From what the weather channel is saying, this weekend is going to be beautiful. So, there will probably be alot of traffic on the lake. The tip=from the look of our slough there appears to be alot of stuff floating in the water. Please pay EXTRA attention for things floating in the water!!!! Be safe and have a wonderful weekend. :O)

Babygirl,

I was over over a couple of weekends back and noticed a lot of debree floating around as well (mostly good sized limbs). When we purchased last fall the water was nice and clean. When does all of this stuff clear out normally?

I was wondering . . . how do you have an easter egg hunt on a lake? Do you need to bring scuba gear?

direct that question to longtimer. He has alot more knowledge of this lake than I do. I am sure he will be happy to help you out.

The debris you see at this time of year is being picked up as the water rises; it's a combination of newer trash (both man made, and limbs, etc.) created since this time last year, and older debris that goes through this cycle every year.

You'll see this stuff pretty much until the lake reaches full pool; as the lake rises, it picks up stuff it deposited at that level as it dropped last fall. Once the lake reaches full pool, most of this stuff will find a home on the shoreline... and that "home" adjusts itself as the water falls.

When the water rises again next spring, the cycle will repeat again. So while it pays to always be careful about floating debris, be extra-careful this time of year.

Weekend before last I hit either a 2X8 or 2X12 on the way to the rock. It was slightly submerged and I think only a prop hit it. It knocked the wood into my depth finder "foot / transducer". I am going to have to dive into the icy waters to determine if its broken, or just "safety released".

Good thing I have a wet suit...

You offered a challenge to my husband last night and now I am offering you one, if you are MAN enough. The forum is not the place to have the discussion that I would like to have with you. Would you please supply me with a e-mail or phone number so I can talk to you personally?????

You can email any poster by clicking on the "Click to email" icon next to his or her alias. (This is always a better option than publicly posting an email address or phone number.)

Wow, you're really hot to get my email address, aren't you? If I didn't know better, I'd say you have some nefarious ulterior motives. Come to think of it, I don't know better. Still, I have nothng to hide; your reply is on the way. And if it turns out that you're up to no good... well, let's cross that bridge when we come to it. :-)

Hey ALSCN, As Clint Smith might say this is your opportunity to make Big pay. I bet you know how to fire up that Big Boat and get the prop(s) at high rev. Wet suit ain't going to help much. Just adds debrie to the water.

Remember Big, I warned you to memorize Clint's Rules. Best disconnect the battery, hit the kill switch or some form of big boat vs. big bore reloading.

ALSCN, if the boat don't crank - well you could always drop that mcrowave overboard at the precise location hooked to an extension cord and turned onto the Bratwurst cycle.

Big, there had best be a lot of rubber content to that wet suit.

ALSCN, Aim for the big head.

Big, Wear a football helmet.

ALCN, Add more weight to the microwave and hope he hangs on.

Big, Let go of the flaming microwave even if the brats are inside.

If it gets any further than this, I am of no further assistance. I would like to read the newspaper story. We might get that one Nation Wide.

And, to save you some time, the reply is basically: No, I'm not going to tell you my phone number, not when you obviously have some sort of score to settle, and not when so much personal info is easy to find when you're armed with something like a phone number. So try again.

Has she given up her own phone number yet?

I didn't think so.

Done. And WSMS has a point; if you're so keen on phone numbers being swapped, where is yours?

You remind me of someone I used to know, initials RH. Does that ring a bell?

Pike - The muddy look of the water in our cove usually starts to clear off at around 489. So it should start clearing up soon.

It was good to meet you a couple weekends ago. I hope you wife's mom is doing well.

How was your time at the lake? Not sure if that was your kid or one of their friends wakeboarding the weekend I was there but they can get that wakeboard pretty high in the air! I don't think they need a life jacket anymore but a parachute maybe?

My mother in law is doing better. She's not going to be bare footing for a while but she is on the mend. It was nice meeting you as well. Next time we're over we'll run a couple of beers by!

By the way . . . that's a nice boat you have!
