You might want to try your luck catching spots soon. Friday morning the surface temp was 68-70 degrees and had pretty good clarity. Using Rattle Traps in skinny water was ineffective. Changed to dark, mid-depth cranks baits around drop offs. Limited in two hours. Go get 'em!

We caught most of ours around hazard buoys that dropped off into deeper water. We also did some worm fishing in shallow water and boated a few. Caught most of ours on a white bucktail with a trailer.
We also went up to Jaybird on Friday, Not much going on up there. The stripers are not runnig up there. At least they weren't on Friday.

It should be past time for the stripers to be running. As for the spots, last week it was a bust. They seemed to be short striking everything. I hope it is better this week, but this new blast of cooler air may make things a bit too blustery for me. Hopefully I can get out and the wind won't be blowing the other way no matter where I am fishing.
