I'm raving about their fish. Friday I was in there and bought tuna steaks. Brought them home, seasoned them with a bit of lemon oil, salt and pepper and grilled them -- they were out of this world. Tuna is not my favorite fish, but these were the best I think I've ever had.
So Saturday I was inspired to return to pick up some shellfish for a paella. Shrimp, scallops, mussels, a lobster tail and for texture, some smoked chorizo sausage. It was all excellent, but the scallops were just amazing. They were expensive, but I have to say that considering their flavor and texture they were worth it. I foresee another dish that focuses just on scallops in the near future.
So I'm taking a chance tomorrow on some Ashley Farms chicken breasts. My neighbor told me that these are amazing. (the man behind me was buying bone in pork chops and they looked wonderful and thick - perfect for grilling.)
They also had Alabama strawberries. Now, I won't lie and say that these were the best I ever had, but they were PDG.
So after a couple of months and numerous visits, I still believe it is a great addition to the lake area. I might feel differently if they were to open a Whole Foods in Alex City, but I doubt that will happen any time soon.

You will love the Ashley Farm chickens. They are the most tender and flavorful chicken I'v eaten. Not had them from Catherine's Market but from another source in SE AL.

If you are at all a salmon fan, try the Scottish Salmon. Grill it seasoned with lemon, butter, salt and pepper. You'll love it too. Just don't buy it all up. That will make me mad!

Holy food channel batman. Man, just getting a burger on the grill is work for us. Want to spend time on the H2O and not in the Kitchen. Foodland in Dadeville has Boston butts on sale sometimes. Brought dem home and smoked em all day with apple wood. Nothing like BBQ and some Nattys to top off a day.

Where is the dinner invite? :)
Ashley Farms chicken is excellent. Restaurant quality. If they have Harris Ranch beef, that is excellent as well.
