We own 5 dogs and a cat. We routinely bring 2 dogs to the lakehome. They are chipped, but we keep them on leashes. I am amazed that people let their animals run loose, especially during holidays when fireworks are going off. People are always looking for lost animals. I wish they would use some common sense to prevent the problem.

Someone posts that they have lost their dog and you have to post your opinion. Have alittle feeling for your fellow man. Not everyone is as perfect as you.

Go crawl under your masser's bed and lick yourself. You have absolutely no class.......at all. And, yes I agree that people bring dogs up to our beautiful wooded lake and expect a city-fied hunting dog to stay in the "yard". Ain't the dog's fault.....that's for sure.

Loose dogs create a problem. Recently two big German sheperds showed up at my screen porch door and kept opming back for a few days. Someone brought them down and turned them loose. A friend's chicken house was attacked by loose dogs.
I love dogs but will not tolerate an aggressive dog so please keep then up.

Get Dog Watch. It keeps my 3 dogs in. Not fair to my neighbors if they roam
The big boy he encourages other dogs to leave when they enter our yard

As an animal lover and someone who wrote a check to the local humane society about a week ago, I do care about lost animals. That is why I posted. It is my opinion, and it obviously chapped you. Get a life. And , by the way, I am a real woman.

What you posted in your original post is the obvious. There is a better time to post it then when the guy is searching for his lost dog. It is not an issue that you love animals or support the Human Society. I do the same but real woman show more empathy toward their fellow wo(man).

I lost my 14 year old dog Patches in 2004 because of the same problem I posted about. I am trying to help others avoid that problem. Shut your pie hole.

"Shut your pie hole." Looks like I hit a raw nerve. Not very ladylike. You could wait a few days before offering your advice.
Sorry about your loss in 2004. I had to put our 16 year old lab down in 2009. It is a traumatic experience.

I have 3 dogs, I live here full time, and my dogs roam, because they are hunting dogs. They don't go into the neighbor's yards, because we have taught them not to. Instead them roam the woods surrounding our house. That said, leaving a dog to roam in a place that is not familiar to them is asking for trouble. Fireworks, firecrackers and my dogs come in the house (actually they are barking at the door to be let in). They are also afraid of gun shots. They are microchipped and also have our name and address. My neighbors know that if they do anything in their yard, on the off chance they go hunting there, I am responsible and I will fix any damage that they might do. I don't allow my dogs to stay out out on the porch and bark. I appreciate that on weekends and holidays, people around me come here to relax and don't want to deal with my dogs and/or their barking. I love dogs and good natured dogs are okay to visit.
The thing about it is that we all need to live in harmony in this beautiful place. It really saddens me whenever I read someone has lost their dog, and if they are anywhere near my location, I will keep my eyes open for a chance to reunite the dog and his owner. Unfortunately, this area seems to be a dumping ground for unwanted dogs - I know this, because all 3 of mine came from that situation. It is people, not dogs, who should be ashamed.

Dear Woodboat, that is MY DOG who is lost. We DO NOT let our dog roam. We live here permanently, our dog jumped out of the back of a moving truck! Before you comment on that, please DONT!!! You do not know our circumstances. We have owned many dogs and cats and have never, ever lost one before.
Please, if you are as compassionate as you say, get the word out and help us find our beautiful dark brown Chesapeake Bay Retriever. We are SICK with grief over this and have already spent hundreds of dollars trying to find her. There is also a reward, by the way. Please call us at 256-825-2105 with any information.

Sending prayers for her safe return. I can only imagine how upset you must be. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are not that common around here. Surely someone will find her and return her.

I meant no disrepect to lablover. I have been there and suffered that pain. As someone who (at the age of 61) has owned my lakehome since I was 28, I just wanted to warn people that these things happen if you are not ultra careful. As you can tell, I don't post often, and probably won't ever post again. I'm sorry for anyone that I offended.

don't let these over sensitive clods bother you. There are some on here who claim they would give up their children before their dog. By far, most dog problems and lost dogs are the owners fault and not the dog's fault.
