This last weekend I caught a short look at a full grown adult male riding a Waverunner with one child, age about 3 in his lap, another about age 5 on the back end facing backwards, and towing a ski-board with a child about age 6/7. No problem so far?? No life jackets anywhere to be found!! I mean none. Zero.

Actually, I would suggest it is a crime with multiple offenses. See attached link:

Mack...at the beginning of your post I was afraid you where talking about me...as we are fairly close on the lake (I stopped by and saw you one day to thank you for a reference on a builder)...but me and my girls always have life jackets on..in fact they don't go on the dock without one...plus they are still skiing and not wake boarding.
I will stop by again and reintroduce myself.

I believe it is comedian Ron White (of blue collar comedy fame) who has a story that he tells and ends with the phrase "You can't fix stupid"
Now we all get in situations now and then that probably are a little bit overboard, but to put children in harm's way is no laughing matter. I am just as appalled at folks pulling a tube full of kids in the middle of traffic headed toward the Rock, or in very narrow areas. Folks, these skiers, tubers, wakers, etc are not that noticable in the water if they fall off in heavily traveled areas.

You are right-on LNG. It is my number 1 fear while operating a boat. It is very hard to see a bobbing head while watching out for other boats. There has been a time or two where the ditched person's arms waving were a big help. It is an accident waiting to happen.

A 15-16 year old girl just died from head injuries received when hit by a boat. 2 kids on tube, both fell off, other boat driver saw 1 kid and hit the other. Story had no details on why the other boat had to pass so close, but it is crowded on lakes over here. Story said the driver was not impaired and no charges would be filed. Kid is still dead. I am sure there is enough blame to share between the 2 drivers.
