North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has issued a special pardon to two detained US journalists, the country's state news agency reports.
Laura Ling and Euna Lee had been found guilty of entering illegally in March.
The news comes on the day that former US President Bill Clinton made a surprise visit to Pyongyang on what was described as a private mission.

It has not been disclosed yet, but Kim Jong-Il asked Obama to send Clinton over to secure the release of the young ladies. Kim wanted Bill to help interview interns - something about a certain skill set he was looking for.
Cheers to the release, and thanks to Bill.

Having been to Korea (South) many many many times, I am sure Bill volunteer for the job. Have only been to the North border, have never gone in to North, but I'll bet Bill will spend some time Seoul. maybe stop at a barber shop or two. If anyone has been to Seoul they know what I am talking about. Yes a real barber shop.

If I had to guess, I would say that it was probably arranged through a 3rd country -- (China?) He would not have gone unless assurances had been provided that they would release the women. By sending Bill Clinton, the North Koreans get a "semi-official" and we can say that he went as a private citizen.

You guys ar amazing and sad in your "funny" comments. This man might be a moral midget but he is big enough man to go into hostile territory and bring 2 American citizens home with him.

OMG, you are not serious. Hostile territory?? You seriously do not think this was all prearranged to get some good press as Obamacare is being slammed ... the latest deficit numbers show a $1.8 trillion deficit in his first year, revenues down 22% from individuals and 57% from business ... BUT the dems passed a budget with a 13% increase in spending.
BTW ... isn't Hillary secretary of state??? Where was she on this mission. Why did Bill need to go do her job???

I did and replied? I look forward to another one of your attacks, since that is all a liberal will do when someone does not agree with them is attack since they will never put an original idea forward. Only spout the talking points, then when they don't know how to respond they attack.

are we going to hear stories from Bill like Hillary did, how he flew in under enemy fire, they had to run for cover. Then he freed the hostages and got them safely back to the plane to fly back. But had just enough time to do a short press conference in the "hostile territory".
What a hero. He will not get respect from Obama, because we have an all volunteer military so they know the risk they take if they join. yes Obama said that.
