It's not that some illegal in Iowa murdered a young college student. It's ICE separating bambino's from the mama's. I wish her well in the Hawkeye Caucus after that outrageously stupid comment.

From the Washington Examiner:
“I’m so sorry for the family here, and I know this is hard, not only for the family, but for the people in her community, the people throughout Iowa,” Warren told CNN’s John Berman. “But one of the things we have to remember is: We need an immigration system that is effective. That focuses on where real problems are.” ... Berman asking (sic) the senator specifically to respond to President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence claiming the Tibbetts murder is proof of the need for stronger immigration enforcement. Warren continued, saying, "Uh, last month, I went down to the border, and I saw where children had been taken away from their mothers. I met with those mothers, who had been lied to, who didn’t know where their children were, who hadn’t had a chance to talk to their children. And there was no plan for how they’d be reunified with their children."
i would assume sure if it is in quotes it is what she really said.

Bingo. She claimed that was the "real" problem....not the murder of Mollie Tibbets. And she did so by lecturing her parents that they have to remember what that real problem is. I suspect they could give a rats behind about kids being temporarily separated from their parents who committed a crime by entering the country illegally. They are probably more concerned about having their daughter separated from them forever. That Casey thinks listening to this garbage somehow changes the meaning is pretty depressing.
And if one more person tries to claim that illegals commit no more murders than the general population I will scream. If they weren't here illegally they would commit zero murders....at least in this country. What they do in their home country is not our problem.

I get political discourse. It’s healthy. But let’s remember a young girl was killed. I bet most of you are parents. You should be ashamed of yourselves for politicizing this - even if others did before you. Have some decency.

No, I got the point and it is a tragedy of unbelievable proportions for her family, and for her especially in the last few moments of her life. My point is that politicizing such events is not a one way street and not limited to one side or the other. I just find it strange that only now do you throw the "BS flag" on politicizing this unfortunate occurrence.

OK, my BS Flag is that Elizabeth Warren is an insincere opportunist. She doesn't give a danm about Mollie or her family, just her political agenda, and found this an opportunity to advance that agenda. Do you agree?

I do agree! You are completely correct Mr H., Sen Warren is an opportunist and using this tragic death in an inexcusable way, but dammit, so is Donald Trump and you know it as well as I do! Why does he not get even one tiny word of some minor displeasure from you? I will spell it the way you prefer this time...because you are a HYPOCRITE!!
If Barack Obama had been a party to even 5% of the BS this idiot has, he would have been tossed out months ago with you being a leader of the cheering squad and you know it better than most on this forum!

Warren politicized this, not me. She had the opportunity to stop when she expressed her condolences and I would not have cared. But she didn't when she gave her tone deaf, abhorrent lecture. I am merely pointing out that the Democrat party is more concerned with illegal aliens than they are the American people.

When there is another school shooting and the liberals want to politicize the killing of many to further their political agenda on assault weapons and gun control, that appears to be an acceptable use.

So now you are devolving to insults? Careful lest you join the ransk of Archibald. I firmly got your point and I reject the very premise. Warren politicized this tragedy to denigrate the loss by her family to score political points with left wing nuts that care more for illegal aliens than they do American citizens being murdered by illegals. You want to kill the messenger? Well sorry but I will point out this obscenity every time they utter the words. Not exactly mousey behavior.......

I guess I'm siding against this post primarily because it is taken out of context. Read the WHOLE article not just snipets. I've highlighted MY 'out of context' take on the article but I've included the FULL artricle and url to the story. I've also included my take.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren is sorry that a 20-year-old Iowa student is dead and that a reported illegal alien has been charged in the killing, but the Massachusetts Democrat wants to stay focused on the “real problems.”
This isn’t a paraphrase of something she said Wednesday on CNN. This is her actual response to a question about reports that law enforcement agents have charged Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, in the disappearance and murder of Mollie Tibbetts.
“I’m so sorry for the family here, and I know this is hard, not only for the family, but for the people in her community, the people throughout Iowa,” Warren told CNN’s John Berman. “But one of the things we have to remember is: We need an immigration system that is effective. That focuses on where real problems are.”
Berman asking the senator specifically to respond to President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence claiming the Tibbetts murder is proof of the need for stronger immigration enforcement.
Warren continued, saying, "Uh, last month, I went down to the border, and I saw where children had been taken away from their mothers. I met with those mothers, who had been lied to, who didn’t know where their children were, who hadn’t had a
chance to talk to their children. And there was no plan for how they’d be reunified with their children."
Tibbetts' remains were found early Tuesday morning, according to law enforcement officials. Rivera, who authorities believe has been living in the U.S. illegally for four to seven years, has been charged with first-degree murder. His bail was set Tuesday at $1 million.
“I think we need immigration laws that focus on people who pose a real threat, and I don’t think mammas and babies are the place where we should be spending our resources. Separating a mamma from a baby does not make this country safe,” Warren said.
Trump signed an executive order on June 20 reversing the policy of separating illegal immigrant families. And as to the issue of mothers being separated from their babies, I think Tibbetts’ mother, Laura Calderwood, might have some thoughts on that.
The Washington Examiner’s Phil Klein disagreed Wednesday with the criticisms of Warren, arguing the Massachusetts senator had not really stepped in it with “outrageously tone-deaf” comment.
“I'm no Warren fan, but this strikes me as a stretch. In clip she goes on to say we need to focus on actual threats, and that family separation doesn't make us safe," he wrote. "She isn't saying that a young girl getting killed isn't a problem.”
I disagree that the negative reaction is a stretch. The criticisms are well-deserved. Her comments follow a clear path. She starts by saying she’s sorry about the Tibbetts murder, and then changes the subject to attack Trump over an immigration policy he rescinded two months ago.
It’s true Warren's remarks were about the White House’s response to the murder. That doesn’t take away from the “but” in her “I’m sorry someone is dead” response. There should never be a "but" in those statements.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/elizabeth-warren-on-the-tibbetts-murder-sad-shes-dead-but-we-have-to-remember-we-need-an-immigration-system-that-focuses-on-where-real-problems-are
Yes, it's a tragedy that a young woman was abducted and murdered. And that the confessed murderer was an illegal. I am not dismissing any of this fact. The fact that people want to bash one of our senators because she is from the 'other' party makes me mad when all she was trying to say our whole congrss will not bring up the matter of immigration reform. One party has been in control of congress for way more than half of the last 18 years and they WILL NOT do anything to correct this problem.
Write, call, email the people WE elected and tell them WE THE PEOPLE demand they go to work on THIS problem rather than working on getting re-elected.

Sorry, but regardless of the context she was asked about the murder and indicated that the real problem was something else. Even the left is pillorying her for the toen deafness of the comment. The real problem is not the separation of parents from their children after they've broken the law. It happens all the time to American citizens who do likewise. The real problem is the murder of American citizens by illegal aliens.

How many American citizens, born and raised here, are killing other American citizens every day of the week??????
The "something else" that she was referring to is the fact that Congress WILL NOT take up immigration reform. She brought up that families, coming here illegally yes, were being torn apart by an administration that ONLY wants to build a wall. (...and remember, he was given the money to build the wall but then wanted more).
And since I brought up the wall, why don't you start a "Go Fund Me" account for the wall. By my figures, the latest # for the wall is $18,000,000,000. There were 62,985,134 popular votes for 45. That works out to $285.78 per voter. That would be a good way to build the wall without using public money and creating more debt and it could be done much quicker than getting a bill passed in Congress.
By the way, when was the last time you drove 70 on US280 or 75 on I85 or I65? I hope you never did since YOU would have been breaking the law.

The "Traveler", along with all the other left wing liberal progressives on this forum, is on a one-way trip into utter madness, having stalled out at low altitude and now in an uncontrollable spin, ultimately to crash in the Pit of Doom and Dispair, forever committed to political purgatory and a Trump Tower solitary confinement for TDS patients. Nothing else explains their logic and reasoning.

Except the difference is that I am an American citizen. But if I get arrested for breaking the law and have to be incarcerated they would take away my minor children. It happens all the time. As for the wall, considering the size of our federal budget that is but a drop in the bucket. I could pay for it easily with cuts that would not be missed by the American people. So no, the real problem isn't the separate of illegal mama's from their illegal babies. It is all the illegals.
