The liberal democrat party in Japan was defeated in an historic election, by a pro growth, lower taxes and less government.

Man, you really are reaching.....

I can see how you would see it that way. LOL
But I really think it is a sign of the world saying enough of this liberal policies and the people taking their governments back.

From AP: "The loss was only the second the Liberal Democratic Party — traditionally the champion of big business and conservative interests"
Names can be deceiving. Sounds like the Japanese equivalent to the American Republican party lost.

I agree MrHodja...........liberal there does not equal liberal here.........I believe the new party is expected to be less friendly to US interests........but , they may be dismayed at the radical departure of this administration from past govt policy on a lot of levels. If they see more of the US backing away from treaty commitments, such as the missile defense system for E Europe, and more insults to friendly gov'ts.....I think you can expect more of allies to go their own way without regard to past ally status. Not good for our world wide 'police' status.

"The Liberal Democratic Party, frequently abbreviated to LDP or Jimintō, is a centre right, conservative political party and the largest party in Japan."
"It had been one of the most consistently successful political parties in the democratic world. The LDP ruled for nearly 54 years since its founding in 1955 before it was defeated by the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) in 2009"
That's right WW ... the centre right, conservative party lost after 54 years to the more progressive DPJ ...
I say again .. you are a trip man

I know absolutely nothing about Japanese politics .. I have no idea if this is a good thing or a bad thing for the U.S.
I just think it is hilarious that WW would start a thread like this when it is obvious that he ... like me ... knows absolutely nothing about Japanese politics.
WW is a trip ...

WW has stepped in it again. Japan 2009 = USA 2008. The center right is kicked out big time by the center left.

Man you are hurting my feelings ... Not. Unlike you, making a mistake is not that big of deal. You admit it and move on. When are you going to admit that Obama is a HUGE mistake for this country?

you are still sleeping and dreaming .... I know it is early ... but he is a a disater and HUGE mistake for this country. It will take years of republican leadership to clean up the mess he has created and the move to socialism.
I should add ... the combination of the liberal democrat congress with Obama is the disaster .... we may get some relief in the midterm election by all recent polls. Including some of your beloved like Harry Reid getting the boot.
I have your projections stored away archie ... when they do not happen you need to publically post that Obama is a failure and you were wrong.
Start practicing. :)

You are right, it is early. Oh, I would love for "my beloved" Harry Reed to get the boot just like your "beloved" Sarah Palin. When will you learn WW , I oppose the extremes at both ends of the spectrum.

Why are YOU still talking about Sarah Palin? What is it about her that you can not stop talking about? What other VP candidate after the election is still being talked about? You compare her to harry Reid? Ummm, sarah is not longer holding office and Reid is the the majority leader in the senate .... I think his loss is a bit more significant when the democrats are in charge.

WW: "Unlike you, making a mistake is not that big of deal. You admit it and move on."
I have admitted mistakes on this board on numerous occasions. You haven't even admitted you made a mistake in starting this thread.
And I forgot ... which one of the S.I.N.s is "changing the subject"? Maybe it's S. for "switching the subject".
