Having a heck of a time this summer with small, thin, black caterpillars invading the slab level of the house. Spray works if you catch them alive, and they seem to die after they've crawled halfway across the room. What are they, how do you control them and keep them out of your house? Seems to be a lake home problem.

"Spray works if you catch them alive" That makes sense. Hate to spray em if they are dead. It looks like you were reported to Obama cause you posted negative comments about Obamacare and caterpillars were sent from ACORN. Don't mess with the DEMs.........
Suggest you call the County Extension...they should be able to help.

Can't believe you're divulging o-BAMA's secrets. May be true, he is a community organizer. Do all Democrats belong to ACORN?
Back on the worms. Spray or not they crawl to the middle of the room and curl up and die.

Caterpillars, that's funyy!!! They are millipedes. There is not much you can do. We had them one year. They showed up in biblical numbers at night. They are more nocturnal. The best thing to do is get rid of the habitat that they breed in, which is any decomposing plant matter (leaves, mulch, etc) I removed all the mulch around my house and replaced it with pine straw. I rake up the old pine straw every spring and replace it with new stuff and I have not had a problem since. They stink too. Step on a live one then take a big wiff, yummy!!!
