I suppose one of the advantages of having Trump as POTUS is that two bit, nut job dictators like Un are not really sure how he might respond to further provacation.  Un knows what would happen to NoKo if he dropped a nuke on anyone as does China and neither knows whether Trump was bluffing or would actually follow through with fire and fury.  Time will tell if this strategy is going to work but if I were advising Un or Xi I would tell them to cool their jets until he is out of office.  Heck, maybe they could hit the jackpot again with another Obama or Clinton.......we just might be dumb enough to do that you know.

On a related topic, China's chest thumping over a trade war is as hollow as can be.  Starting a trade war with the U.S would decimate their economy and every response harms them way more than it does us.  Our two economies are far too linked for them to even consider letting that happen, hence their imposition of trade restrictions with NoKo per the sanctions.  They account for 1/3rd of NoKo's trade and while destabilizing nut job Un would create a refugee crisis, that would be nothing compared to the U.S turning that country into a radioactive ash heap.

If I were Trump, I would tell China that he will require every last U.S. manufacturer to stop producing in China, because we will be cujtting off all imports and exports from China.  They would have to blink.  I'm thinking they don't want a war any more than we do. Their own people would rise up, and not even Chairman Mao would have been able to stop them.

An Ohio-class sub can carry 24 ICBMs. Each ICBM has 12 MIRV warheads; thats 288 nukes in each of the 14 Ohio-class subs BMSs.

In addition to the 14 Ballistic Missile Subs, the 4 oldest Ohio-class subs were converted to guided missile subs, each of the 4 can carry 154 cruise missiles, which adds 616 warheads to the total.

The only area that needs to be hit are the coasts. There is absolutely nothing in between. Just look at a night satellite of the area. Not light pollution there at all. Then after it clears we go in and mine the beaches for obsidian. It makes the best surgical instruments..
