I saw a political cartoon a few days ago that shows the GOP elephant thundering past burning African, Asian and Middle Eastern cities to get to Brussels. He is wearing a shirt reading "White Lives Matter". A couple of days later an even worse attack in Pakistan occurs and the comparitive media coverage and political reaction would indicate that we all need to put on that same shirt!!
MM and others were posting as soon as the Belgium news hit the airwaves. Not so for Pakistan.

Yes archie anyone who is not a left-wing nut like you hates everybody but our lilly white brethren. But just for fun lets take an objective look at the two scenarios. First, The attacks in Brussells were multiple, coordinated attacks in an area of the world that has not previuosly been subject to large scale terror attacks. They also targeted AMERICANS in a foreign country that has allowede unbridled "immigration" over the years to allow jihadies into the country. The Pakistani attacks on the other hand were most likely done by Pakitstani nationals. True they targeted Christioans, but not Americans. It was one explosion and not coordinated with other attacks in a land that has been dealing jihadies for years. But I am sure in your warped world view they are equivical so therefore should have gotten equal attention in the U.S. media, but to the rest of us attacking American targets is more newswirthy. As for nobody (really only MM cuz he's the one you are obsessed with) not commenting here, well maybe its Monday morning and folks have more on their plate than commenting here about something that happened halfway around the world and doesn't affect 99.9999% of us.

Humm indeed. In Brussels 35 human beings died at the hand of terrorists and in LaHore 65 human beings died at the hand of terrorists! You are correct, the two are not equivalent! Your response goes a long way in demonstrating the point I was trying to make. Sad!

You may have missed the occasion, but most of the Forum members were celebrating Easter with our families and not trolling the Forum.

Archie, don't project your racism on the rest of us. I haven't posted anything lately as it was Easter weekend and I was focused on other things. Now I know why I had you on ignore for a a while, which is where you are going again so I don't have to read this nonsense. Only you could take a tragedy of Islamofascists killing innocent Christians and fellow Muslims to try to paint others as racists. That is indeed a sickness but oh so emblamatic of left wing nuts. And no, I won't be responding to anything else you post as I will no longer be seeing your posts. What a wonderful feature! Get some mental health care Archie, you are in desparate need of help......

Only MM could turn a correct observation, that we tend to place more importance on terrorism when it occurs in The Western Hemisphere and Europe than in Africa or Asia, into a partisan attack on the messanger. Why does he get so bent out of shape by the truth? Since he is no longer willing to listen to anything he is not 100% in agreement with, can anybody else explain it to me. How can the difference in reaction not be at least somewhat racially or ethnically connected. Christians and Muslims die in Muslim terrorist attacks, if it happens in Europe is is Extra edition banner headlines but in Asia it is a below the fold story.
BTW: I hope someone will inform MM that he is the one who so desperately needs help...anger management help!

You ARE sick. Did you not read what was posted? There are a LOT more important things to do on Easter Sunday than post on this forum. Petty, petty Arch.

Accept at face value that the Christians on the board were likely attending church and doing the family thing on Easter Sunday.
Now, onto Pakistan attacks. I figured that there would be an attack somewhere on Christians, just because it is a holy Christian day. So they picked Pakistan, likely because it was convenient and in a country that is vastly Muslim, security wouldn't be present. You are right, although it was mentioned that the attack had taken place, the media didn't dwell on it like they did Brussels. In my opinion, this is likely because most Americans don't give a darn about Pakistan (those that can even find it on the map), because it harbored Osama Bin Laudin, there is a lot of violence in the country already (there is constant bombing between Pakistan and India, particularly on trains going between the two) and the north western corner of the country is controlled by radicals, whom th government can't control. It's borders are porous. This is a country where they they assassinated Benizhar Buto in cold blood.
It is tragic that 65 were killed and many more injured. But we are not especially aligned with Pakistan as we are with Brussels and there weren't any Americans killed. Now if you read the European press, there might be much more made of it.
I have been to Pakistan twice in the late 80s and I didn't find anything charming it about it. They don't especially like Americans and aren't afriad to say so. So while I am sorry for the loss of life, I dont care as much about some dead Pakis.

There seems to a story going around that terrorist kidnapped a priest, who is Indian; and crusified him on Good Friday. When they took the priest, they also killed 4 nuns. The only reason I am skeptical is that ISIS has not posted any pictures on the internet and we know they love to show off their handiwork.
BTW, I understand that more Muslims than Christians were killed in the attack in Lehore

He is mentally ill.. For some reason he thinks I need anger management help when nothing could be further from the truth. I view him with such indifference that he can't even remotely make me angry. That is why I have once again put him on ignore. I should have never let Goofy talk me into engaging with him. It is an absolute waste of time. Only Archie could project his own racism on others. Very, very disturbed individual. I truly hope he seeks proper mental health care. What do you bet he is in therapy? It isn't helping.
But on the positive side I had a wonderful Easter Triduum. Thursday night Seder Supper (Catholic version of the Passover meal) followed by the Mass of the Lord's Supper, Friday we do the Seven Last Words and Stations of the Cross and then of course Easter Mass on Sunday. Wish the weather had been nicer.
