And Kay Ivey sounded like a charlatan at a tent revival in her speech! Yikes! Buyers remorse?

He has since apologized. My guess is that his mouth got out ahead of his brain.

He is the Governor of Alabama, a father, grandfather, and a devout Christian stating a principle of his faith, in a Christian church. Help me understand your issue.

I wonder why he has apologized? If he believes it then say as the Gov of Maine did 'Kiss my butt". I have no problem with his
religous statement assuming he also made it when he was running for office. Maybe, now he can get busy and educate the kids of Alabama so the state doesn't continue to rank near the bottom.
Moore the judge who ran on the his religious beliefs make no secret of it during the campaign and lost. Did Bentley do the same or did he hide it until after the election??

I don't think it "hid" it, and I don't have a problem with his faith. But, presumably he was elected for his ability to lead the state, not to be my "brother". At a time when this state (and this country) need to be united, I don't think it is appropriate for the Governor to be looking for ways to push people apart. To me, faith is a very personal thing and this is an inaugural address, not a missionary drive to bring people to the Bapist faith. There are lots of Christians, who aren't Baptists.
