Pretty powerful letter to Pelosi. Too bad she won't read it, or if she does, will ignore it.

It is a good letter. It's a shame that Pelosi is well past listening to reason. I swear the other night in an interview she was fairly smacking her lips at the idea of ramming the legislation though. And who wants that kind of legislator.

Hound, I actually think the people in her district want her kind a politician which is why when I think of them Sodom and Gomorrah come to mind. And to think the Dems voted her in as Speaker, third in line to POTUS......now that's a scary thought.

Gee, wonder if Bobby is up for election this year? Even Artur voted against health care. At least they know they'd be crucified in Alabama elections if they voted for HC bill. If Bright is sincere, then he is in the wrong party. Artur is in the right party, just trying to buy a few non-welfare votes.

This latest move seems to be consistent with the positions he has taken since arriving in DC. I often wonder myself about his choice of parties. His web site claims he never chose sides until he ran for Mayor of Montgomery, and he chose Dem because he thought he could get more done than if Republican.

I thought becoming speaker was based on seniority and not being voted. Hmmm, I need to look that up. I know she had to be sworn in.

I think what propelled her was the Dem successes in 2006 and 2008 and the mistaken belief that somehow the general makeup of the American electorate had seismically shifted to the left rather than the reality that the disaffection with Bush and the fiscal irresponsibility of the GOP directed a lot of relatively conservative independents to take a chance on hope, so to speak.
I think they obviously made a mistake not to select a more moderate Dem as Speaker and Majority Leader. But who really knows besides them what went on behind closed doors in the former smoke-filled rooms....now occupied by low-fat yogurt, sushi and expensive flower arrangements. We really haven't had anyone in that position so ideological since Newt (of course I liked him more because we have the same ideology :-)).
Maybe we need to go through this every 20-30 years to remind the American people how divided government is much better for the country. However, in this case the lesson could well be the most costly ever if they jam through Obamacare contrary to the overwhelming wishes of the American people.

My guess is he drove through downtown and figured out very quickly that Montgomery is very much a democrat town.
