I am curious as to what our numbers would be here on LM.com. Should you choose, just type in the Subject bar/no need to follow with text. I'll go first... ;)

Gone fishing. I predicted.. "Happy holidays", was my guess. But I'm not sure what he's just happy about on a holy occasion to many of us.. Merry Christmas works fine with me..

-CATBOAT, now you started something :)

-"Happy Holidays" for the collective celebrations of Christmas, and News Years. OK, ...but it seems like a little of a copout put for Christians.

-"Happy Holidays" for those friends who are not Christians, ...errrr, why? If they are not celebrating the holiday of Christmas, why are we asking them to?

-To me this is all PC BS! It's all so illogical.

- For the 4th of July , do we say have a Happy Holiday or do we say have a Happy 4th? For St. Patrick's Day, do we say have a Happy Hopliday, or do we say have a Happy St Paddy's Day? For Valentine's Day do we... well, you get the point. Why is Christmas different?

-Do other religious groups say Happy Holiday, or do they, and we, say Happy Honika (sp), or Happy Ramadan, etc? No. We, and they, use teh specific term. Why is Christmas different?

-For Kwanza, my friends who celebrate it, use the term Happy Kwanza (...sometimes Haban Gani), not Happy Holiday. Why is Christmas different?

-If anti-Christians want to demean and diminish teh Christian holiday of Christmas, let them do so. But I could never understand why the "liberal," "PC" crowd of Chritians want to help them do it! This is just more of teh PC crowd's act of cultural suicide.

Merry Christmas.

It is a day that celebrates the birth of Christ. When non christians celebrate a religious holiday we do not correct them or tell them they should say "Happy Holidays" so they do not offend christians.

It is nuts that we have to be concerned that celebrating a religious holiday will offend others. The wonderful thing about living in a free nation (at least for now) is that you can choose not to celebrate or align with others. By anyone asking that you do not say or celebrate your own beliefs is limiting your own freedom so the minority is not offended. But never dare ask the minority not to outwardly celebrate their beliefs or there will be an uproar.

Merry Christmas!

It is not my intent to offend anyone or any group with this wish. If someone takes offense by this, then such is their problem - not mine. It is not possible for me to influence how another's emotions run as that is internal only to them.

Now that I have spewed my political correctness analysis and opinion, I truly hope that my friends on this forum have a wonderful Christmas season; that we remain mindful of its significance and meaning; and that we all continue to receive many blessings for our health and families' lives.

I don't mean to purposely offend anyone but, for me, it's Merry Christmas. If they come back with a Merry Quanza, Happy Honnica(sp?), or whatever, I am not offended in the least. I have my beliefs, they have theirs. That is all. Very simple really.

Merry Christmas to all and I really don't care if that offends anyone. I will never ask for anyone to forgive me for speaking something I believe in that does no harm to that person. If someone is offended because I believe in Christmas then that is their problem not mine.

I thought there was a possiblility this would be one of the most agreeable, accomodating threads ever posted in "Off Topic" forum history. You see, we really can and do respect one another. Some very interesting views I may add.
