Since when can the Speaker of the House swear in a candidate who has not been certified by the appropriate state authorities. Does this mean that Pelosi could pick any Tom, Dick, or Harry from a district and swear them in as Congressional Reps.?

So what if the sworn in individual is decertified. The vote in Congress on a particular bill can not be changed.

Where are the standards for leadership in this country? It's almost as if the Democrats will sell their soul to the Devil to get a piece of legislation passed. How long can this go on?

I think because the opponent conceded gave her the right. He's still not certified by his state though. Somewhat confusing, but typical government/politics.

Assume you are talking about NY-23, which Martini Man brought to light a number of threads ago --- Look down the threads. I think he did a pretty good job summarizing it.
I don't think it was that the State didn't certify him as the winner. I believe that it was he was certified before all the votes were counted.

As much as I dislike Nancy Pelosi, I don't think this was a Pelosi plot. The State Commission really screwed it up.
