I've never been a fan of oysters. Eaten at LMOB a few times. Excellent. I suspect there is enough on that menu such a ban won't hurt them too much, if at all.

Three words, "Acme Oyster House" in NOLA. Best raw I've ever had. French Market Restaurant on Decatur has the best grilled.

It would seem to me that the risks of eating raw shellfish are well known -- and if you consider that only about 15 people die a year out of the population of millions, the risk isn't too great.
The FDA has been under the gun to make food safer. They don't have enough inspectors to go after the meat and poultry industry, so I guess they decided this was something that they could manage.

I think if you are eating raw shelffish and you have a compromised immune system then you probably should die from stupidity.

I do not know anyone who has made it out of life without dying. We all engage in activities during which we can die every day, and the key is NOT to make it as long as you can at any cost - it is to balance enjoyment of life with doing your best not to kill yourself. This is just more of the same Government meddling...

The Feds will justify the intrusion by reminding us they now pay for our healthcare and we cannot be trusted to our own devices anymore.
