Thousands of people on Logan Martin will now have to put wheels under our pontoon boats just to let some kids splash around in kayaks. This sounds like some more brilliant decisions ranking up there with the spotted owl, snail darter, California kangaroo rat and wilderness areas that won't allow a helicopter to land and pick up the injured. Has common sense totally taken flight in America. I am beginning to think the C. S. A. had the right idea all along!

Wow, if there are thousands of pontoons on logan martin on any given weekend day, I'd say the river could use the day off! I'm not familiar with this event, but it sounds like fun, young people and paddles! Have fun kids.

They have been running this festival for years and no lakes have been drained yet.  I believe that releases for whitewater recreation are a part of APCo's permit guidelines for Jordan Dam.  They run one or two generators every weekend for the whitewater crowd.  While I have never been to the festival, a trip down the Coosa is a fun way to spend an afternoon.

How does the Coosa whitewater fest affect Martin?  I think you're meaning Jordan.

At any rate, latest news is that APCO is telling the event that they just dont' have the water to open up like years before.
