Let's start talking about places to eat around the lake.   My wife and I visited La Pasado in alex city for lunch Saturday.  Had not been in awhile.  Wife had fajitas and I had chimachanga.  Was good.  They are back to the never emply tea or water glass.

Tried two places in the last month or so in AC that I think are excellent considering the competition.  Mexican restaurant moved from Dadeville to AC a few months back.....can't recall the name but it is located on old 280 (Dadeville Road) and is on the same side of the road and close to Radio Shack.  Very good, I think.

Also, the Japanese/Chinese place on 280 in the old City Buffet bldg, has execellent Chinese meals.  Haven't tried the Sushi or Japanese yet.  Egg Rolls are great.

These are dinner recommendations, haven't tried lunch at either.  Not pretty, good food.

We used to stop at Big B Barbeque at 280 and 22 both coming to Lake and returning to Bham. Pretty good Q.

Unfortunately, they moved down 22 a quarter mile, remodeled and expanded. The last time we stopped the Q was not very good and our waitress must have been having a bad day. No fun.

We'll give it one more try and hope for a better meal.

I am finished with Big B.  Like you say, it was decent when at the current Car Wash location, but not good now.

Wix, I will have to try out the new Mexican.   Is it kinda sorta near the high school?

We have tried the Chinese where old City Buffet was.  It has been hit or mis.

We need better places to eat.

HURRY UP HERB, open up The Landing

It's. Called Cazatores Mexican, and yes, it's on the road the HS is on but back toward CACC a couple of blocks.  They are open for lunch.

They lost it when they moved from the corner on 280 and went in the rustic lumber business down the street. I think their kitchen chief left them in the move and it wasn't the same since. I have always been amazed that the area doesn't have a great BBQ place.

Ditto. They moved to a bigger place, added tables,,, and their product and service stayed back on 280...
