Either the residents of smith lake are just stupid or just a bunch of don't give a cares. Smith Lake is the only waterway that continues to drop in water level after all the rain. I think it's safe to say Al. Power has ya'll in the palm of there hands, and that is just sad.

Been fighting this same battle for years. Comments are:
1. APC owns the lake. 2. We are guest with limited rights (taxes, supporting the economy of Winston, Cullman, and Walker Counties) 3. Smith lake is for power generation only and not for water recreation 4. APC can discharge at whatever rates are necessary to support Gorgas 5. We should have bought lots with year round water even though the skills of a mountain goat are necessary to get down the walkway. 6. APC has no responsibility for any dock damage due to level fluctuations. 7. Why should APC install cooling towers at Gorgas
These comments do not come from APC but from property owners on Smith Lake. Change this mentality and APC can be negotiated with to have a balance between the need for power generation and property owner water rights.

Unbelievable. 3 inches of rain and the water went down.

WOW, three years have gone by, and you guys are still complaining... Hey, I suffered some dock damage a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't caused by low levels, it was caused by the 70-80 MPH winds.... But hey, with your guys mentality, I should just blame it on APCO!
