New National Security threat

So yesterday afternoon, we learned that we have a new national security threat...involving... wait for it.....Russia. they are developing a space nuclear bomb that could theoretically, take out our satellites. Funny how this is made public while the House is refusing to put funding for Ukaine to vote....
Except, the new threat isn't built yet.... On one hand they tell us that Russia is using WWII era tanks in Ukraine, and in the next breath they are telling us that they have developed space nukes. One minute Russia is losing and in the next, Russia is winning.
It never fails to amaze me how heavy handed the neophytes in the White House are. They think we are stupid. They are trying to win on fear.

Speaker Johnson opined that he released this statement to gin up more support for Ukraine, which is struggling in the House. It's all politics all the time. I have mixed feelings about the Ukraine aid given we know that some percentage of the money ends up in the pockets of Ukrainian kelptocrats and my understanding of history. These border states stuck between Russia and the west have long been tugged back and forth in the name of security. NATO wants to have Ukraine, et al on their side as a buffer against Russian aggression and Russia wants them under their control as a buffer against the west. This was exactly what started WW1.....nothing new under the sun.
But my biggest objections are two fold: 1) We need to secure our own border before we start to worry about some buffer state in Europe; and 2) We are literally broke and every single dollar we give to Ukraine is borrowed and adds to our national debt. I suppose a third one is the reality that there could have been a negotiated settlement but it was scuttled by Boris Johnson and Biden.

I hope the House and Johnson hang tough on the border and don't bend. I'm with you 100%. And now, according to reports, we're having a big problem on our Northern border too.

Saw that as well. Not surprising, one cold winter in Canada and I'd make a dash for the border as well....not to mention the taxes and their leftist government.
I would not put much hope on the GOP in the House. They have a miniscule majority of one third of government. Only so much they can do and it will take very few defections to get things pushed through. But I do hope they can hold the line and get these bills separated instead of combined.
