In almost every state Republican legislators are quick to support fewer gun restrictions while pushing tighter voter restrictions.  Does anybody disagree with that?

In the last 50 years 120,000,000 Americans died from all causes.  In those 50 years 1,500,000 Americans died from some sort gun violence.  That's 1 out of every 85 deaths due to a gun.

In the last 50 years approximately 6,500,000,000 (6.5 billion) votes have been cast in US national elections.  In those 50 years 1500 proven cases of fraudulent votes have been uncovered.  That is about 1 fraudulent vote for every 4,300,000 votes cast.  That is like 1 crooked vote in the state of MO in the 2020 election cycle*.

*(probably a crooked vote for Trump)

More than half of all gun deaths are by suicide, you know, SELF INFLICTED.  If they didn't have a gun they wiould have found another way.

How about we put the same restrictions on the right to vote that we do on the right to purchase a firearm?

Mandatory background checks for all ballots, up to a 10 day waiting period and mandatory ID - it works for me.

but requiring someone to produce an ID is racist because apparently POC/minorities can not get one or figure out the internet according to insane people on the left.

Oh, FYI, the fine upstanding young GA white man who ''had a bad day'' earlier this week and decided to make it better by killing 8 people including 6 Asian women, obtained the gun the day he blew them away...no waiting to buy a gun in GA.  Maybe if he had to wait a week to get the gun he would have been having a better day when he picked up the piece and, just maybe, 8 humans would still be alive today.

Why would waiting a week have made much of a difference to someone who has apparently had mental problems for some time?  Instead of him killing 8 this week, he could have picked up his gun next week and killed them then, orhe could have gotten a gun easily through other illegal means - but I am sure that someone who decided to go kill people would not resort to stealing or purchasing a gun illegally - or just using a knife or his car.  The problem is you thnk that the background check, or a waiting period is going to stop a criminal from doing criminal things, life and history tells us that someone who wants to do bad will find a way.  If you removed every gun on the planet would that stop murder, suicide and crimes?

All I was saying is that why is it OK to limit one right but not another?  Do we need waiting periods, permits and background checks for free speech? Why is it OK to require a ID for the right to firearms, but it is racist to require an ID to vote because demonrats have determined that POC and minorities are too stupid to figure out how to get one.  Since women and asians are being reported as buying firearms at record rates, would it not stand to reason that you are the racist for requiring them to produce ID so that they can feel safe?  You show this GA criminal as proof we need waiting periods - but feel free to google Carol Bowne who was killed while waiting on a New Jersey gun permit because she had a restraining order out against a criminal and did not feel safe.  I guess the 30 day to 3 month wait for approval to be able to purchase a gun for her safety in your eyes is a good thing since she was not shot - just stabbed to death in her drive way.  Criminals will always do bad things.

The new rules do not have waiting periods before you get your gun, since he walked out with it, he passed the background check period.  If there was any question the rules currently allow for up to a 3 day hold while they dive deeper into someone and only plans to extend that out to 10 days.

The fact that he walked out of the gun shop with the gun would not have changed in that case.  You are ignorant of the law as well as the proposed changes - but again your ignorace is not a new thing.

I think it is hysterical that you read the things you detest so much prior to logging in so that you can be a part of the converstation while still claiming to ignore.  "I hate what you post so much I am going to block it, but then I make sure to read it and post about it"  That is some serious stupid right there.  I would, like MM,  ignore you because you are such an a$$hat, but sadly I would miss the thoughful and often funny responses to you also which is the only reason I do not ignore anyone, because while you are are really an incurable dumba$$, seeing what people post in response brightens my day.

You are diverting and obfuscating, you are pulling a CRD or Mr H...how about an answer to the question.  Do you have any concerns that the elected Republicans culture warriors are so much more upset with an average 1500 prooved crooked vote out of 6.5 billion votes in the last half century (one per 4.3 million) than the fact that 1.5 million Americans have died from gun violence, that's 1.25% of the 120,000,000 who died in the last 50 years?  Any comment?  Any nagging sense that something is not making logical sense?  Any possibility that you are not 100% blinded to actual reality by political unreality?

A political discussion with someone who has TDS, a no win proposition.  Sorry, as I have said before I try to remain open minded and actually I would love the dissolution of both parties for obvious reasons.  The parties are destroying this great country and it troubles me greatly.

so if I weigh in on an issue it could be for and against the action.  So I repeat I ignore your baiting me on personalities, individuals or parties.  I generally side with capitalism, conservatism and success for all.  Finally I will say that what is going on currently will not be tolerated by the silent majority and something big is about to happen.  But usually I'm wrong.  Lol.

see ya.  Btw, I worry about aquifers and less on rivers except that the supply of the aquifers of Lake Martin, thus the reason for the Georgia release of waters.  We are on the Tallapoosa River system that originates in Georgia.  Hope all is well.  Shot #2 is scheduled for April 2.  Peace.
