Trump Pays More Taxes In China Than In The USA

While Trump paid $750 in taxes in the USA, he paid $188,000 to China in taxes. Trumps new hat MC(hina)GA
(CNN) President Donald Trump's tax records show he has pursued expansive business projects in China for years and even maintains a Chinese bank account, The New York Times reported Tuesday, disclosures that deal a blow to the President's efforts to paint Democratic nominee Joe Biden as the presidential candidate who is soft on China.
An analysis of Trump's tax records by the Times shows that the President holds a previously unreported bank account in China that was not included on his public financial disclosures because it is held under a corporate name. Trump also maintains bank accounts in Britain and Ireland.
The Chinese account, the newspaper said, is controlled by Trump International Hotels Management and it paid $188,561 in taxes in China from 2013 to 2015.

Goofy, you are so naive. Having legitimate international business interests in a foreign country is a far cry from using your family as a cutout to extort money from foreign governments in exchange for favors from our government. And as was actually pointed out in the NYT article based on the illegally obtained tax returns Trump paid almost $1.5M in estimated taxes in the year he paid an additional $750 when he filed his return in September of that year. Being ignorant is no virtue.
I also find it interesting that you conflated Trump paying taxes with one of his businesses paying taxes in China. You do realize that his businesses generate around half a billion in revenue every year and pay hundreds of millions in real estate, payroll, income taxes, etc. each and every year. That Trump hires excellent accountants and attorneys that take advantage of the tax laws just indicates how intelligent he is.......stable genius for sure. If you have a problem with that talk to your congressman and ask him or her to change the tax laws. Of course, if he promises to rob Peter to pay Paul, he can always count on the support of Paul, right Paul?

No kidding.....and what makes this even more absurd is that Trump has been harder on China than any President since before Nixon. Now Dementia Joe Hiden is an entirely different story. He and Obama coddled and sucked up to the ChiComs while they picked our pockets, stole our technology and used our money to build up their military. And now we know that Hunter gave Creepy Joe the Big Guy his 10%.
But in the world of TDS, paying taxes as a result of legitimate business activity in China prior to being in elected office is de facto evidence of being under their thumb but running a hidden pay for play scheme while a Senator and VP using family members as cutouts and laundering the Big Guy's payola is A-OK. That is literally how mentally ill the morons at cnnBS and people like Goofy are.......they say you know what will make you blind, but I am starting to think it makes you stupid. Wonder if we can get a hard take on this by rosy-handed Toobin using his small head to think?

The following is from NYT and WPost. Post your facts....they only exist in your head.
"Then there’s that $1,500 in 2016 and 2017, the most recent year for which data are available. It’s worth noting that Trump paid the government about $5.2 million for his estimated 2016 and 2017 bills, preliminary estimates of what he would owe before he filed.
Once he filed, though, those dropped to that nominal $750 apiece — and the other $5.198 million can be used as credit for future years’ bills. Trump had $22.7 million in General Business Credit, much of it carried forward from prior years, that he could apply.
The business credit cannot be used to get a refund; it can only be applied against taxes owed. Mr. Trump had more than enough to cancel out his $7,435,857 tax bill. But on the Form 3800 for the General Business Credit, his accountants subtracted $750 from his allowable credit. Why they did that is not clear. But the result was a total federal income tax liability of $750."
Trump’s tax bill in 2017
Alternative Minimum Tax $7,435,857
General Business Credit ($7,435,107)
Total income tax due $ 750
You are obviously not familiar with FORM 3800.

Very familiar as I go through this each year. He paid those taxes in the year they were due and the amounts were credited to future years since he had other legitimate deductions. He wrote a check for millions to the Dept of Treasury that year. That's a fact. In the real world where sane people exist writing a check to the Dept of Treasury is paying taxes.
You just sound jealous that he has better tax advice than you. Like I said.....complain to your congressman.....

"He paid those taxes in the year they were due and the amounts were credited to future years since he had other legitimate deductions."
The only question is what was his actual tax for 2016 and 2017. The answer is $750 per year. We agree the excess estimated was applied to 2018 rather than request a refund. I am surprised he did not request a refund to invest the money and pay new estimates for 2018.
I don't make any payments towards my tax bill during the year. I pay 110% of my previous years taxes in December covering the entire year. It is legal and allowed...you just have to be smart on taxes. FYI, I do my own taxes.

I can't believe that Americans aren't latching onto this. First the Clinton's selling access via their foundation and now this. And I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg - if Joe was doing this, you know damned well that Obama is probably doing it too. After all, he bills himself as an "influencer" and what better way to line your pockets.
Frankly, I think this is endemic to elected politicians. We are literally rotting from the inside out. Term limits? Let's start voting this self-serving asshats out.

I completely agree with you and that is one of the primary reasons why I believe in a more limited Federal government. The bigger, more powerful, and the more money they control the greater the potential for elected officials to try to cash in.

As you vote them out, you just replace them with more of the same. Everyone runs on a platform they will clean up DC. No one is going to run and say "Let me win so I can enrich myself." It is the nature of the beast....that is Democracy. The alternative is alot worse. We often vote for who we perceive as the worse of 2 evils in virtually every election. No one goes through life without skeletons in their closet. Maybe, we just expect too much of others who run for office.
Growing up, I always admired anyone who entered the priesthood or became a nun until all the devastating news over the past few years. I was active in Boy Scouts with my son and now they have filed for bankruptcy due to lawsuits.
We are disappointed with behaviors we see and expect "new" will solve the problem. Will it?????

As is aptly pointed out in the Bible, money is the root of all evil. Politics for some reason seems to attract more than its fair share of grifters and scam artists and people like Clinton, Biden, et al are simply playing the game to their best advantage. It's why when someone like Trump comes along and threatens the gravy train he is mercilessly attacked. And not just by Democrats but by deep state Republicans as well. It's all about the money.
Of secondary importance is power and sex. Again, they put themselves in a place where they can procure both. This is what happened to all Christian faiths and the Boy Scouts with predators putting themselves in a postion of trust and authority so they can pursue their proclivities. Has nothing to do with the organization.....it has to do with sin.
This is why we are not a democracy, we are a representative republic...if we can keep it (hat tip I think to Ben Franklin). The day we become a democracy you can have the last one left turn out the lights. A democracy is nothing more than mob rule by the majority. And this is why we have three branches of government so there are checks and balances against mob rule. Democrats are proposing to undo all that with the awful idea of packing the Supreme Court. It would be yet another move they make that we tell them they will come to regret it. Up it to 13 and pack with liberals? Next time the GOP controls things they will up it 17 and pack it with originalists......rinse and repeat. What Democrats need to do is to reject the wishes of their radical left wing fringe represented by the likes of Harris, Warren and Sanders and win elections.

That's exacty what I do. On April 15th we file for an extension and make a payment equal to 110% of my estimated tax liability so I don't pay a penalty. But when my actual tax return is submitted in September I may owe more tax, get a refund or apply the tax payments to future years. A lot depends on whether additional deductions result in a tax liability less than what I paid in my estimate. Either way, just like Trump I pay a crap load of taxes in April and in his case he applied past deductions to his current tax liability and applied the payment he made in April to future years. The government has his money. He paid millions in taxes. Period....end of story.

I suspect that even-handed enforcement of existing laws, especially regarding conflict of interest, would go a long way toward solving the problem. Another would be term limits, giving politicians less of an opportunity to build a power base. I haven't given up, but don't see any real progress being made. Those measures Trump tries to implement to "drain the swamp" seem to do nothing more than get more of the swamp dwellers out into the open. I think it is Trump's narcissistic personality and his drive to leave the country better off than he found it are key factors in him not giving up and saying it just isn't worth the grief.

I think that enforcing existing laws and enforcing ethics rules would do a lot ot help. As it is, as soon as they put sticter ethics into play, they quicker they find a way around them. I think if we had term limits, it would keep them from becoming "career politicians" - the longer you are in the game, the more power you can accrue. You get named to the power committees and the next thing people are buying your influence and access. But we don't need Congress to enact term limits, we can allow them to serve two terms and vote them out. Be less worried about the party and more worried about the person you are putting in there. It makes no sense that people are clamoring for a job that pays $176,000 a year; requires you to maintain two residences and yet, within a term or two, you find yourself suddenly a millionaire. Vacations, CODEL trips to the Bahamas and to Europe, receptions where you are served gourmet food, a litte "something" for your wife and kids, a chance to endorse local businesses, contracts that go a certain way to your generous donors, speaking fees, etc. It all adds up. Think about it - if college football coaches are paid millions to win football games, given free houses, have their bills paid off, given free cars, etc, just think what they could get if they had the power to influence millions and billions of dollars to a grateful benefactor.
What do you think would happen if the job became strictly voluntary?
And if you work for a government department and you get a Congressional inquiry, 9 times out of 10, it is going to be decided in favor of the constituite. Because if it isn't, you will spend your time under a cloud of paper from the Hill, all of which has to be answered in 48 hours.

But their pensions are not all that great. 50% of their salary after they serve 30 years. I know there is some kind of chart that is out there that says they get some fantastic amount of money for life, but I researched it and it isn't true. So therefore they have to build their little nest eggs being on the take.
