I have to say that I am totally disheatened and discouraged about the reaction to Trump's Win.  People have not let go of the campaign nastiness.  And the desperate Liberals are trying to get states to abandon the electoral collage and go for the popular vote.  The media is still trying to twist the truth to their spin.  I thought once the election was over people would settle down, but no.   I guess at heart I am an optimist and I tend to think the best of others but after this, I am struggling to get there  I have been called ignorant, uneducated, uninformed, a racist, a vile person, and I have been told by former friends that they think I am addicted to prescription drugs and/or have dementia.  3/4 of my FB "friends" have now unfriended me and blocked me.  I guess they think I was personally responsible for Trump's election. And most of the posts on FB are now antiTrump.  Thank goodness for the Blue Tick Hound group who don't get into the political tangle.

And what is up with these protests and riots?  Are we going to have 4 years of this?  I've had people tell me that they are terrified that Trump supporters are going to kill them.  Really?  People seem to be in hysteria that their health insurance will be cancelled, that they won't get their Medicare and Social Security, and they are still convinced that the stock market is going to crash and wipe out their savings.  Can people really be this irrational?  Oh yes, and Putin is getting ready to launch WWIII.  Here I have been worrying about some radicalized Muslim deciding to take people out on his personal jihad, or being mugged when I am out shopping. And my husband was just reading to me that we are having to beef up the border security because illegals are coming over the border in droves.

I think the blame for this is less about Trump and more about what the media has done to our country.  Trump was scrutinzied every day of his campaign, every word, every move, twisted and spun and reported like daily pablum.  Now Hillary is blaming Comely for her loss.  I think she is just looking for an excuse as to why she did the "unthinkable" and lost.  

I find I want to stay in my house, concentrate on my dogs, and read novels so I don't have to deal with it.  I just don't want to hear any more lies and BS.

They are just a bunch of spoiled brats, who for the first time in their lives have been told "no".  Is this the beginning of the end of the great experiment that is the United States of America?  I sure as hell hope not, but events over the next few days or weeks will be telling.

i just don't think that those making the most noise understand what is responsible for the largesse they enjoy.

You are just the kind of person that I am finding so disheartening.  Instead of finding something encouraging or even wise to say, you have to post something Trump said over 8 years ago.  I haven't heard him say anything against the protesters, although I think he and Obama should say something, and about the violence.

It looks like you left wingers are the weak people who can't handle other opinions. What happened to your comments in your post around 10:00 pm on November 8th when you had pretty much given up the ghost.  You listed several of Trumps's campaign promises and said it looked like Trump for the next four years. Which of the things that you listed do you feel are not in the best interest of the people of the Unite States? For each one that you don't like counter it with one of Hillary's promises that you like better.

Went back to look and can't find what you are talking about.  To be clear, I did vote for Obama twice because Romney and McCain were abhorrent to me - I didn't see them as strong enough to make a difference.  But Obama let me down on his hope and change promise (and I will tell you, that I really hoped he would close Gitmo and find a way out of these wars we have be in for 15 years; and I was hopeful that the ACA would be so much more than it is).  But this cycle, I felt strongly from the beginning that Trump was the man who could work with Congress and really make a meaningful change. I never believed the spin the media put on him as he devil incarnate. 

I will say that I went to be on election night afraid that Hillary was going to do better than she did.  But when I got up the day after and saw the headlines that Trump had pulled out a decisive victory, I was pretty happy. Watched the 60 Minutes interview last night and I thought he did a great job.  I know now that he knows the time for being outrageous is over, and now it's time to get down to work. 

As a woman, I have never felt marginalized and I got into a verbal knock down, carry out with a few people on FB the other day, becasue they posted pictures of the previous first ladies and then showed a nude shot of Melania.  Seems that all the liberal worries about his denigration of woman doesn't apply to the next first lady of the country.  I've now been blocked on FB by 3/4 of my former "friends"and I'm okay with that.  Because I now am convinced that Liberals think they have a moral superiority and that they should make the rules about what can and cannot be said. Intolerant and judgemental.  And that makes me a bit sad.

While I may not agree with Wix and his level of name calling, I can respect his opinion.  He does get his point across with a level of angst which I can understand having watched this site for many years.

As for yes yes yes on this board I have seen lots of opinions on here, and people who often come to the same conclusions.  I can think of three who are always lined up in the same little box of liberal attacks, talking about the high road and usually have the keys on their keyboard stuck from the slobber and pudding dripping off their chins.

Now Wix has been here pretty much every day, while Copperline and Archvillian have not been seen since election day.  Talk about run run run from what you dont agree with and then accuse your opposition of what you yourself are doing.  It has been almost pleasant without your BILLLALALRYRYRYYY!! or get ready to say Madame President Clinton for the next 4+.  

Someone else asked if you ever go back and read any of your old posts or the responses to them - I think of your posts much like an inner city drive by - spray them down with bullets and run for the hills.

You claim you are pro 2nd ammendment, but you quit the NRA and the local range because they didnt believe as you did on universal background checks.  So when you die, you want the goverment to determine if your children or spouse can have your firearms or if they should just take them since some twit screwed up and put your two month/year old grandsomething (would not want to assign a gender) on the no fly list.  So you quit the range and NRA because they did not believe as you do - that all firearm transfers have to be documented and stamped by the government.

Now unlike some I do think some common sense restrictions could be in order.  How about a list of people who can legally purchase guns period.  Through due process you can be added or removed - keep the process simple, a visit to your local police department can get you back on the list if removed for some reason.  No registry of what is in my closet.  If what I do in my bedroom or what my wife wants to do with her lady parts is out of season for politicians then why is what I own any different as long as it is legal?
