does someone have to come to your dock before it is considered unsafe. Besides the video we have a still photo of the boat registration and the address of the people in the boat who are renting this week. And who do we send this too at the Marine Police?

The boat wasn't any closer than I see everyday at my dock. Now the skier was puting his own safety at risk.

Honestly do not see a problem with the boat.  Did not appear to be that close.  Now.. if people would have been on the dock or people out swimming certainly would have been a hazard.

Went back and reviewed again.  The boat was certainly not that close; the wakerboarder sprayed the pier not the boat, nobody is on the pier so no problem there.  I would let it slide.  Enjoy the lake!

Also after this weekend they will all be gone. Lake season for most folks is Memorial day thru 4th July. BUT, keep everything tied down TIGHT this weekend.

I can see why people hate wakeboarders so much.  Not close?  Seriously?  And what happens when a boarder gets not so close that he does a faceplant into the dock?  You can bet there will be a lawsuit for maintaining an unsafe dock.  A bogus claim, but I know some shysters who will take the case.

No big deal nobody on the pier if he hits it thats their deal.   Like I said before just enjoy the lake.  Permit was received from the Power company for the pier.  If we are sitting on the pier boat cruises by closeby we just smile and wave.

Got enough stuff to worry about!

Boat operator is responsible for the person being towed. Great example reckless conduct.....it is a shame it was not witnessed by MP.  A max fine for reckless conduct would circulate quickly. Stay safe

Boat cruises by with a wakeboarder within a ski rope length to do a trick, and it is something else, especially in an area as tight as The Narrows.  This was confrontational and unsafe, and not just for the wakeboarder.  If someone is pulling out from the next dock, or there are swimmers in the water, then people die.  That is something to worry about. You cannot just sit back and enjoy the lake when someone else won't let you enjoy the water.

People with your attitude are the problem.  Believe it or not, very few share your attitude.  People die or are seriously injured by just such a lackadaisical approach to boating.  Four people died last week in the Gulf because someone was not serious.  A couple of years ago a woman died when she hit a pier with a sea doo on Lake Martin.  As you cool dudes say "chit happens"!  Take it elsewhere.

Lord how mercy I'm all about safety, but  the video does not reflect a big deal.

The video reflects an escalation.  There is nothing safe about it.

Okay your right and I am wrong.  May need more Marine Police around the lake.

Not dismissing the operators responsibilities, but it appears he/she is swinging wide to make a turn.  The boarder should certainly stay between the wakes until the turn is completed in a tight channel.  The absence of other people on the dock makes me think, let the law of Natural Selection work it's magic.   Happy 4th of July to everyone!!
