Wahoo has a great fish po'boy. French fries are good! My two picky grandchildren, who only eat noodles, love the hush puppies.
Chris, the owner, will go out of her way to make sure you have a good meal.
People who live here full-time need to support the "non-Russelll" places. AND, if you go eat out, I think the owner would like to,know what you think....not just ...."thank you, it was good"... Then never return. As a former restaurant owner, I always wanted to know what people thought.
I also am looking forward to my first meal at the new Kowaglia Restaurant. Hope it can live up to the name from 30 years ago!

I have been to Kowaliga three times since they have opened and the food and service have been good each time. They have something for everyone at very reasonable prices. Today I had a Ceasar's salad with the grilled shrimp that was as good as any I have ever had and the service was exceptional. The facilities and view are fabulous. I agree we should support all our local businesses and find the positives in them all.

If your implication is I am an employee, you are incorrect. Just a satisfied customer.

I have also had 3 meals there. Good, not amazing, but I know they are still working out the kinks. I have zero idea why some on here want to downgrade anything new--often with absolutely no knowledge. That is weird.

Check out the menu. My wife is allergic to shellfish of any type and scavengers like catfish. If you take away those items you have a limited menu for the money. Oscars does the job for less I think. I was surprised to see no Tilapia on the menu although it's getting hard to find from the US. Lower end fish everywhere is getting scary. I'll bet their staff prepares the food well but it appears to be a solid "fried" place. I'd probably like it but some girlies won't.

When we want catfish we drive 25 miles from east Montgomery to Catfish House. Their "setup" really sets the mood....and the fish, shrimp, and oysters always come straight from the fryer to the table.
