A few weeks I asked the Forum for help finding someone that could locate and repair a leak in my water supply line. After a futile using my math skills (pi r square, volume and all that), I called American Leak Decetor in Opelika and All Clear Plumbing in Red Hill. I highly recommend both of these companies. The cost is relative. Compared to the amount of time it took them to do the job, it would be expensive. Compared to my water bill for one month if the leak had gone undetected, it was cheap. Thanks to all you posters for making the Forum great again. BTW, my math method was only off by about 125 feet (out of 175"). I guess my children were right about not having to learn algebra .

Not sure which water supplier you had but we had a leak and were looking at a $1,600 bill but they had a one-time amnesty program and the final bill was only 10% of that. You might ask your provider and see if they have something like that. We are on Jacksons Gap Water.

Glad you were able to find the leak! Do you have a telephone number for All Clear Plumbing? Thanks.

I get my water from Central Elmore Water and Sewer Authority. To their credit, they noticed unusually high usage for a week and called me on the golf course. I immediately, after my last putt, drove to the lake and cut the water off. My bill that month weas less than $80 (usually $20 in the winter). They knew I was not a full time resident. If they were like most water authorities I'm sure I would have had a $500+ bill.

Thanks for the phone number. I don't need them for a leak problem but do need to have my heating/cooling system checked out. I did have a small leak under my concrete slab last fall, but luckily my son isolated it to a small leak in the copper tubing just underneath the slab where the hot water heater is located. It just so happened that you could feel a little warmth on the concrete. He chipped out the concrete and there was a pin hole leak where the copper pipe was soldered. I kind of think that it might have been a little time consuming for the "professionals" to find.

You need an air condition/heating company not a plumber.

It isn't unusual these days for a company to offer both plumbing and HVAC services.

I know the difference between air conditioning/heating and plumbing services. I had been given some wrong infornation that All Clear also did air conditioning/heating.

Oak Valley Heating & Cooling LLC, 334-639-0061. The plumbers amicably split from Oak Valley recently. Both companies are located close to each other and recommend each other. I intend to switch to Oak Valley also.
