I have searched the web and the forum with no results.
Can you direct me to the AL law on exactly what is needed to place a swim buoy out from our dock.

Must not be used to fitting a large rubber (seal), and is trying to press one on that is too small for your dock.

Here is a post from Marine Police on 6/29/2009

A number of people place "swim buoys" or mooring buoys off the ends of their docks. We don't have a problem with this as long as these buoys don't interfere with the normal flow of traffic for the slough and are not placed more than 25-feet from the end of the dock.

I f boats would stay 25 feet from the pier/dock we wouldn't need to designate caution/swim areas. But then again the reckless boaters are probably drive in the same reckless manner.
