Chuck the grammar. Rather have good food at a fair price served promptly with a smile. We've had ups and downs but all in all much prefer the atmosphere and food to at least one other place on the lake that seems to have changed in name only this year.

Mr H., I assume the "other place" is Kowliga Restaurant.  Did you try it yesterday or was that just a pre-formed opinion?

MrHodja.......if your reference to "at least one other place on the lake that seems to have changed in name only this year" is Kowaliga, then you have not seen the menu.  I've not had a chance to experience the food or atmosphere at Kowaliga but I'm excited about the changes. Consistently good food and service will keep any restaurant in business. Hopefully both establishments will be thriving years from now offering all of us choice and variety.

Not sure how or if ur connected to kowliga but sinclairs service sucked repeatedly all summer long for several years. Each spring there was the promise of better food and service. Never happened. After reviewing the menu the other day of the new kowliga, not much has changed. Prices about the same, food names changed around, a new deck, and a new name.....other than that it's Sinclairs II. However the topic started with harbor docks and I have to say the service was very decent and the food was decent on many trips....a few bad times. I frequent both these places as i am on this end of the lake with no other water eatery to choose from. Sinclairs/kowliga has its work cut out to get up to Chris's level. I think the conversation about Sinclairs has been on here enough to know it is not just a few miserable soles taking out frustration. That place was the pits on the weekends.....which is when it really mattered. Screw up on wednesday nobody cares....screw up on Saturday and word will spread. Jus sayin......

Actually, MrHodja posted a link to a PDF that appears to show a menu for the restauranta/bait shop - the listed address seems pretty close anyway.  I hope that the service will be drastically better than Sinclair's, but I can imagine that turnover is pretty high in that area based on past experience...

You stirred the pot on that one. If you are gonna' get back in, I've got a really wide paddle you can borrow.

I think I'll let things simmer a bit and see how they sort out.

Six of us went to Kowaliga last night hoping for a giant turnaround from Sinclairs.

Reviews: Service was excellent.  On the young side, but someone trained them well.

Grilled catfish taco -  excellent!

1/2 rack of Ribs - tender and well smoked, good BBQ sauce.

Fried oysters in the "Trio" - incredible!  Fried shrimp - good,  Catfish pieces too small.

Fried catfish fillets - back to the old Kowaliga!

Caesar Salad - Needs a new dressing

Banana Pudding - warm and home made like grandmas!

Overall, very excited about Kowaliga.  That said, We very much enjoy HarborDocks, too.

Actually, they offer catfish fillets and "Squealers".  You are correct - they probably did not offer fillets 25-30 years ago.

I hope all restaurants around the lake are well managed and offer good eats.
