These swims are getting tougher and tougher. I didn't stay in the water very long. Got my head under the water (rule #1) and swam around a little bit and then got out as fast as I could. I sure hope we have some of that global warming in Feb. so the water will warm up a bit.

Algore says that the cold weather is just further proof of global warming!

Only a MAD DOG would go swimming in January in Lake Martin. At least Al Gore goes swimming in the Keys. Do you do this every year or is this in honor of Obama becoming President on Tuesday???
Cheers!!!!

That sounds like something Al Gore would say. He needs to keep up the hype to sell his books.

GoneFishin.....I try to do something different each year at the lake. One year I started the Lake Martin Peachtree Road Race 10k and I have won it every year since then. Of course, I'm the only one running it. However, if anyone wants to run the race with me this 4th of July, please let me know. I start the race at 7:30am on the eastern side of Dadeville and finish at our house on Tessie Road off of Point Cloxson Road in the Sandy Creek area. As they say, it's all downhill. I'm 61 and I try to water ski every year. I just thought it would be fun to try to swim in each month of the year. My wife always goes with me as a wittness and to hold my towel to wrap me when I get out of the water. Shen thinks I'm out of my mind and she might be right.

I do these swims to honor our service men and women all over the world. I'll let you and those like you honor BHO tomorrow.

BigFoot....thank you indeed for the upgrade. It took staying under the electric blanket for a couple of hours before I could get warm again.

I have had computer problems the last couple of weeks and did not have the chance to say "THANK YOU" for all of your hard work on the college football pool. It was a lot of fun and I congratulate the two winners. After a few weeks, my wife asked me why I was so interested in all of the college games I was watching. After I explained it to her, she started helping me pick the teams and she watched the games with me. Life is good because of BigFoot's Pools.
