Anybody have any updates on this project? One building seems open, but the other two seem to be allowed to fall down. Certainly would be careful about buying into the completed building, with the other two sitting close by.

Where is it at? And what kind of building is it?

was foreclosed on by out of state lender; very difficult to get them to do creative financing to push the project

Creative financing is a big part of the problem.

That is a shame. We have a place by it at Sunset Point, and it is quite an eyesore coming into the area. Don't know what will ever happen to it. Rot to the ground or be torn down eventually as a hazard. Who knows. It certainly does nothing to help the property values in the vicinity.

You are right Sagetek. Unfortunately there are dozens of these same type developments on the Lake. Thank God we do not have some sort of development authority or rules to protect the Lake. Just enjoy looking at their "freedom" being exercised as you drive by...

Some might say the same things about Sunset Pointe.

And you meant exactly 'what' by that comment?

That one mans starter castle is another mans eyesore. Personally, if you gave me one of those places where you live, I would say thanks as I was calling a real estate agent to sell it for me.

Well, the nice thing about any public lake is that a person can have what they want - for some price. Not everyone can afford to, nor even wants to, have a zillion dollar home as a weekend house. Others don't want a cabin or a fixer-upper. Lots of folks don't want to come to the lake to work all weekend mowing grass and doing other upkeep. There are areas of the lake that I would repeat what you have said myself. I say, live and let live.

I'm just glad and feel blessed to have a lake home. It is a lot more than many folks have.

if I owned something nearby, I would organize my neighbors & put the heat [maybe even legal] on the lender that owns it now--they should keep it respectable

any one know what has happened to our posting friend, Catherine ? she seems to have disappeared these past few days--maybe that's why the Forum has been so civil !

The issues with Stoneview Summit go far beyond what one entity can do. StillWaters residents reside under several sets of covenants, and the SWRA has no authority to 'do' anything about Stoneview. Like so many LM developments, there is no real governing authority to get something done. The builder didn't supervise his contractors. Things had to be done and redone several times (like wiring, flooring, etc.). Then he went bankrupt and a bank took over the project. Last year word was that work would begin on the second building once the first was completely sold. The third would follow after everything in the second was sold, etc. Apparently the first building isn't completely sold, ergo the rest of the property sits. The properties surrounding - homes and other developments alike, all suffer. Several homes in the slough have been sold over the last year and more are for sale. It used to be a really nice slough, with the LM Chapel at the heart of it, so we just have to hope things will improve.

but heat can be put on a lender if enough complain--but alas, the lender is out-of-state, so cares nothing about you locals
