About 100 years ago I played a little high school basketball. I knew that if I moved both feet I needed to get rid of the ball on the second move, either shoot or pass. I am watching UNC v DUKE and was wondering if that rule still exists. The annoucers are just all over themselves with some moves to the basket. But the guy dribbles, picks up the ball, one, two, three, sometimes four steps and jams or shoots a floater.
Of course, I know the rule does not exsit in the NBA but I thought it was still a turnover in college.

I'm seeing the same thing...and don't even get me started about "palming" the ball...but to answer your question, I know of no rule that allows more than 2 steps with a held ball

They are moving so fast, and I do mean fast, that I am sure there is a question as to when the ball is "held". But if we are going to call it on the 9 year olds at the Y, then it is good to call on 19 year olds as well.
