Our slough AT OUR HOUSE gets EVERYTHING that floats up after a storm. ......including floating docks. If they are relatively new, we can usually find the owners. This time, the old dock is battered and has bare styrofoam blocks undernearth.  Is there some lake governance/service that hauls these things off at no charge to us?

at the very least I would report it to AL Power Shoreline. Especially if it has the bad kind of foam.

APC will tow it away, especially if it is foam.

Had the pleasure of having one wash ashore a couple of weeks ago. WE pulled it in and chain sawed apart. Hauled off to dump in Fairhope. Pain in the rear. No place to haul in Dadeville. Wish I knew about AP. They really need a place to haul refuse and tree limbs. Tried dump near Tallasee they wanted to charge $75 for a small Trailer load. No wonder stuff gets dumped all over the place.

Dump in Tallassee is a big rip off.

We do the majority of the lake clean projects for Alabama Power, but we try to clean up the messes left by mother nature and other contractors on the lake when we can as we pass by.

Email me your address, and I will see if one of our 4 barges is close, and grab it and dispose of it properly.  ( As someone mentioned, that is a royal pain, and a big cost in our line of business )

Also - Report to Alabama Power as well, they keep a list of the hazzards and trash for removal.
