Sort of like watches, you have one you always know what time it is. If you have more than one you never know what time it is. I use APCO's Shorelines App. 483'6" this morning.

Lakeshore app uses 491. Lake Martin Voice app says 6.5 ft Below full pool. Me and Jethro graduated sixth grade but something doesn't add up

The Shorelines app uses the correct numbers for winter pool which is 484'. So we are 6 inches below the winter pool level and 2'6" higher than the former winter pool level. I agree it is confusing whihc is why I use only one source. The new winter pool for 3 of every 4 years is 484', which is 3 feet higher than the old winter pool.

Harry, in my opinion, this website has the most accurate and valuable information on any lake in the US. Go to lakemartin.com and you can look up lake levels for most lakes in the country, and you can bring up the historical graphs for many of the lakes for the past 5 or more years. Now that APCO has deleted graphs from their public information we use this website to watch the entire ACT basin and all of the lakes and dams. Especially useful is the information on the Corps of Engineers lakes like Lake Alatoona on the Coosa River in Georgia.
Interestingly, the Corp of Engineers rewrote their 50 year old Operating Manual this year and now their policy is to keep Alatoona up higher in the fall and start taking it down on Dec 1. That policy will affect Lake Martin water levels because we have to make up the loss of flow in the Coosa River with Lake Martin water. It affected us this year by about a foot. Releases from Alatoona are now allowing Martin to increase slightly. Too much info here, but suggest you go with this website for info. It gives real time levels.

I'm sorry I guess I have complicated my question. APCO app 483.6....7.4 ft below full pool (forget winter pool). Lake Martin Voice app 483.5....6.5 ft. below full pool.

John, has admitted that he is still using OLD levels at 'The Voice' and has not updated them to the correct levels. That means do not use his levels! Otherwise, just walk out to the beach and stick your foot in the water, and that's what the level is.

The APCO app is correct. The other has not adjusted theirs for the new numbers. We are currently 7'6" below full poll and 6" below winter pool. Either way, we are still 2'6" above the old winter pool.

Thanks all, yes, I have been using the "old" level of 490 (as full pool) on my Lake Martin Voice app. But a few weeks ago I asked my computer guy to recalibrate at 491. But after that we had a glitch (I get my info from AL Power) and I think it reverted to the old formula. Thanks for the heads up. I will ask him to take a look at it again, but my intentions going forward are to use 491 as full pool.
It's admitedly harder for me to change my brain than it is my app. I was talking to an AL Power Shoreline guy last week and we had to correct ourselves because we said "490" about a half dozen times each!!
Thanks to all and Merry Christmas!
