I believe TC and others on the forum use a Masterbuilt electric smoker. I've been looking at them and would appreciate any feedback on features, size/capacity, do'es and don'ts, etc. Thanks in advance.

Jim,
Yes I have Masterbuilt smokers, four of them. Right now I only use one at home and one at the lake though. I HIGHLY recommend the 40". The additional size allows you to smoke 8 butts, or 8 chickens, or 4 turkeys, or 4 briskets at a time. I'm not sure how many ribs, but at least 8 racks laying flat. The 30" will only do half that and a full brisket will not lay flat. There are issues with these smokers. Wiring is suspect at the heating element attachment, but its an easy fix. They need to be kept dry. I have a cover over mine and keep it on the deck outside with no issues. I recommend the cold smoker attachment. It lets you load chips once at the beginning to get several hours of smoke. In the last 3 years I have smoked over 1700 pounds of meat on one of mine with minimal problems. I'm a fan!

Many thanks for the info. Thinking about an Xmas gift the boss, and this just might fill the bill. I'm sure she will enjoy it!
