I have a 20 year old Garmin Marine GPS with a depth finder that I am looking to upgrade.  This unit has been reliable, but the black and white LCD screen leaves something to be desired compared with the newer color models.  Has anyone had any experience with the Garmin LakeVu HD map software with the Dynamic Lake Level feature?

I am interested in the Dynamic Lake Level to help avoid hidden obstructions in the water while cruising on the lake .  Garmin did a complete mapping of Lake Martin a few years ago and released the new software in 2017, so it has not been out too long.  What do you think of the software and which model GPS do you recommend?

I think that Garmin bought Navionics which has a very good product. I use Lowrance HDS units but it is a matter of preference. robably worth visiting a bass pro site and look at all the models and features available.
