Things are not going well for the 20/80 party.....and by that I mean the party that is in the 20% category on most issues as compared to 80% of Americans.  They are on the wrong side on the trans madness, illegal immigration, cutting government waste and fraud, ending the war in Ukraine, etc., etc., etc.  And they must have gotten a rough awakening when they polled the government shutdown and saw they were going to be blamed this time....because they would have been the ones at fault.  Hence the cave in on the CR in the Senate.  Chuckie had no choice.

Meanwhile, according to the same cnnBS poll Trump approval is at an all time high of 47%.  Lest we forget, President Auto-Pen had a 57% approval during his honeymoon period but recall that was with complete govt media complex support as opposed to Trump who is at 47% with complete govt media complex opposition.  If he had the same fawning coverage as Dementia Joe his approval rating would be closer to 70%.

I think the turning point was realizing that once they sent the non-essential folks home, they may never come back this time.  Trump would have jumped on the fact that things are running just fine without them and fire them all, then re-hire selective people that have special skills as long as they don't suffer TDS. Just my theory.

That's what Chuckie said as his reason for folding.  My wife worked for EPA when they had one of the shut downs.  Before they went out they told everyone they would get all their back pay when the shut down ended and they did.  Just a long, paid vacation for them...with delayed payment.  I suspect this time they would be told we will let you know if we need you back.
