Yet another power outage today.  We had a minimal rainstorm around 3 PM and the power was out from 3 to 5 PM. 

How (un)reliable is the APCo service?   Guess I will have to spend hundreds of dollars for a battery backup for my BiPAP. 

We don't have a good spot for a Generac.

Agree that it is aggravating but who knows what happened to lines up from you. Check with your electrician, might can get by with a smaller generator.  I have a generator and am going to check to see what I can get by with for short term.

I agree we should have reliable power, but a bare-bones approach to having enough AC ppower to run your medical device woud be a deep cycle 12 volt battery and an inverter capable of the wattage you need.  Maybe a couple hundred bucks, even less if you have a trolling motor battery.

Have you tried talking to APCO.  If you call and talk with them they will send a crew our to findout why you loose power so much.  It could be a tree limb crossing lines and causing it to short out.  Call them, they will solve the problem if you complain to them.

Then he definitely needs to call APCO cuz I ain't lost power in a while.  Mine used to trip enough to reset clocks every few days until my former Fahter-in-law clued me in to call them because it was not normal.  They came and found a problen with one particular tree and corrected it and my problem went away.
