"The presence of the Confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry," NASCAR said in a statement on its website.
"Bringing people together around a love for racing and the community that it creates is what makes our fans and sport special. The display of the Confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties.""

NASCAR is following NFL to kissing up, except for one little difference. NFL is a predominantly black player sport and interest in Games has been on the decline for several years.....so kneel if ya wanna, nobody will be at the game to see ya. NASCAR is now and has always been a redneck sport. Rednecks love their great-granddaddy's flag, so I predict that this may really be the beginning of the end of NASCAR. If NASCAR thinks this will entice the Antifa/Hoodie/Gay/Black crowd to come to races, they might as well shut it down now.

You can be sure this change is more about corporate sponsors and has nothing to do with the fans. Corporate virtue signaling and being woke rarely accomplishes anything good....just ask Dicks of Gillette.

I have only a passing knowledge of NASCAR, but they are pandering to the current narrative. I saw that one car team has repainted their car to say "Black Lives Matter". I have no idea what portion of their fan base is black. They will lose some of their fans, but really, is it about racing or about a flag? I'm surprised they have been able to hold out this long.

Our church worked a concession stand at Talladega one year and I can tell you I don't recall seeing any black people, but did see masses of white working class folks who will not think kindly of banning the flag, either because they fly it or because they resent someone telling them they can't.

So, burning and pissing on the American flag is a free speech issue, but you can't fly a Confederate flag? I'm not a big Confederate flag guy, and I understand that it may be truly offensive to some (others "offended" simply because they are woke, whatever that means). However, I am offended by those who want to tear everything down with no accountably. I'm offended by the whole BLM movement because I believe that all lives matter including black lives, but we are racists when we espouse that ideal.
I do agree that NASCAR is perceived to be a "redneck" sport and that the biggest problem with this new policy is that the fans are being dictated what they CAN'T do and what they MUST do as individuals. Definately won't help the NASCAR brand.

It's probably because they don't want to be told what to do. I personally have never gotten the whole confederate flag obsession - but I imagine a lot of NASCAR fans feel strongly about it. I wonder what they will think about the "Black lives Matter" car? I know a lot of women who are big NASCAR fans, but they have remained silent on the flag issue.

The driver of the car with Black Lives Matters is the only black driver. The owner of the car is the King of Stock car racing Richard Petty from North Carolina. He happens to be a living legend with 200 victories during his racing days.

Wonder how an "All Lives Matter" car would be received by the NASCAR crowd... Probably be hard to find sponsors for that, I guess. How much does it take to sponsor a NASCAR team each year? Millions? Anybody have a guess?

If you have an "all lives matter" car you might as well wrap the car in the confederate flag, have a stereo that blasts Dixie and the driver could wear a white hooded helmet - because anything other then BLM is considered racist.
Just look at the push back in the media to Blue lives matter and all lives matter etc. Does not matter if you look at races/sexes/pick something as equal or not because anything other then their way is offensive and cause for protests and demands for boycots.
