THe mill store, the triangle building in Alex City, is closing at the end of  August. They are not replenishing inventory of most goods already and will start mark downs soon. Can't say right now what is going there but will most likely be associated with the hospital. Rumor has it that it will be another "doc in a box" to compete with the one across from Walmart. Another rumor is it will be the long anticipated Publix but another rumor has Publix going to the corner of 63 where they are clearing now. The only certainty that I know right now is the mill store is definitely closing. Feel free to add your own speculations to thus thread.... Lol.

As I understand it, they will be putting in a Dairy Queen across from the GooGoo.  And they seeem to be building another fast food place up between Zaxby and Pizza Hut. 

I don' think they are using the Russell Mill store as the Urgent Care center, because there appears to be a large sign up beyond it announcing the urgent care center to be built. 

I personally do not eat Fast Food (except the occassional sausage) but I wouldn't mind if they put in another chain just to break for a break.

You are correct about Dairy Queen going on the corner. It is owned by Berkshire Hathaway also so it was a natural fit. I'm still waiting on wix to enlighten us about the kill store since he read it in the Outlook. I searched the web site but found no reference to the closing of anything but Fred's, but it is the Outlook so I am not surprised.

OK so it is not fast food, it's an AT&T store - I guess to give the Verizon competition? 

Not to be sad, I'm sure they'll find yet another site for fast food. 

Also they are opening  a French Cafe Bistro in Alex City.  It's grand opening is to be April 21st, but I don't know if it will be take out or sit down.  And they are finishing off the space in that same shopping strip (it's the one with 24/7 Fitness and Jakes) for a Lake Martin Pizza to open.  I have been told it is the same one as in Dadeville. 

And across from the new River Bank, they are putting in another bank.

Neither do I asshat. At one time that land was optioned by another entity, presumably for Publix. That was way back in 2015. Large corporations option property frequently and the let it expire if things don't work out like they want. Search the forum for my name and the word "iconic" and report what you find.
